How do I get my 19 month old daughter to drink water? I tried giving her only water for a couple of days and she won't drink it. She will take a sip and then spit it out or push it away. I don't want to give her juice, now that summer is coming i want her to drink lots of water. Any suggestions?

my children dont like water on its own as it makes them sick to much on its own so i add a bottle top full to the water and it takes the water taste off it our u could buy flavoured water and they are ok to children or u could squeeze a real lemon in water 4 a little flavour hope 1 of these help and good luck

My son will not drink plain water either. But he will drink flavored water. He loves Propel water, his favotite is strawberry-kiwi. His peditrician told us some kids dont like the taste of plain water, so we are always buying propel. Hope this helps! :)

Have you tried spiking the water with just a little bit of juice? We call it juice water around here.

Try giving it to her fancy. Let her pick out her favorite bottled waters at the grocery store or add just a little flavoring to it. Also, if she's really thirsty she will likely drink anything. Maybe just start offering it to her while she's out places playing and distracted too so she won't care as much.

i understand how u feel. my older child is the same way. here is a couple of idea we do. first one is. we put water in our sports cup (mommy or daddy cup) and we drink it and say "its a big girl / boy drink. " " would you like a drink of the big girl/boy drink?" sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. 2nd thing we do is we put 90% water in a cup and only 10% of juice in the cup. that way its mostly water but they still get a little taste of juice. the last idea is taking a lemon or cucumber and putting them in the water so the water will have a little taste. hope one of these ideas help. good luck.
