MY DAUGHTER BELLA IS 20 MONTHS OLD. SHE HAS BEEN SICK SINCE SHES 3 MONTHS OLD..CONSTANT CONGESTION AND EAR INFECTIONS. FINALLY LAST MONTH WE RESORTED TO OUR FINAL OPTION AND GOT TUBES PLACED IN HER EARS. SHE HAS BEEN DOING VERYY WELL ... I HAD A SORE THROAT ALL WEEK..SO I LET HER SLEEP AT MY MOMS FOR A NIGHT SO SHE WOULD NOT BE EXPOSED, HOWEVER SHE WAS UP WHINING ALL LAST NIGHT WITH A 99.9 TEMP. NOW I ASKED HER "WHERE IS YOUR BOO BOO?" AND SHE GRABS AT HER THROAT/NECK. WHAT CAN I GIVE HER TO SOOTHE IT! I HAVE NOT GIVEN HER HONEY YET AND AM AFRAID. ARE THERE ANY SAFE MEDICATIONS FOR A TODDLER THIS YOUNG FOR A SORE THROAT? PLEASE HELP I FEEL SO BADLY FOR HER!!

raw honey is great for soothing a throat.
Its ok to give to a toddler, but not a baby under a year.
Chamomile tea is good too, if she doesnt like the flavor..put some honey and ginger in it. Those will both help take down a fever or kill a virus/bacteria thats causing the problem.
Garlic is a natural antibiotic so it can help her heal. (Raw garlic not cooked)

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can give a young child :-( and I know it can be frustrating. I have heard the honey option is a natural thing that can work. Other than that, lots of fluids and maybe cold, soft foods such as apple sauce, popsicles, ice cream, jello, and yogurt.
