Yes and it continues even as they get older. I have a 5 yr old boy who eats alot, esp during a growth spurt, which seems like an almost every day thing. He can eat breakfast at 8 and by 9-930 hes ready to eat again.

Yes, it is absolutely normal. Babies go through a growth spurt at 3 weeks old and 3 months old, where they want to eat constantly.

Yes this is normal, nurse on demand. The stronger the sucking reflex gets then you will notice a little bit of a spacing in between you feedings.

Newborns eat every 1 1/2 to 3 hours. Expect this to get more manageable around 6-8 weeks.

My son ate all the time and the doc said it was normal, but as they get older they will not have to eat so often

Good luck & congratulations.

Yes! Newborn babies need to eat every 2 to 3 hours. Gradually they will start going a little longer between feedings at night, but may keep eating every 2 hours during the day for many months! Just watch your baby's hunger cues, feed him when he's hungry, and don't worry about what's normal because every baby is different.
