Well if she still has a fever, they will end up doing a work up on her and do blood work. Hope she feels better!! Sorry you have to go through that. Just follow up, the Dr doesnt know how she is during the day. So as her advocate, you need to be persistant and tell everything on your mind. Dr's arent always right, they are human too! Always remember that!

A fever that high, for that long, sounds like an ear infection to me. My daughter is unfortunately prone to them, and that is always the first sign. Overall, trust your gut. If you don't liek what your doctor tells you, take her to a walk in clinic and get a second opinion. I hope she feels better soon!!
Hi. I've been dealing with the same thing with my 2 and a half year old. Her fever had started on Monday, stayed between 102 and 104.5. We took her to the doctors on wednesday and they found that it was her tonsils. They put her on atibiotics and she still has the fever. I took her back to the doctors today and they had to change anitibiotics because they didnt seem to be working. They said if it still doesnt go down by tuesday to take her back. I would definatly take her to doctors!

If the fever ever lasts for more than three days, then you should go get it checked out. Most of the time it means there is some sort of infection.
In the mean time, popsicles, pedialyte, and cold compresses. But definately get to the Dr. ASAP....for both of your wellbeings. :)

Go to the Doctor and if they say they cant find anything wrong you need to take your little one to the Hospital, Doctors dont always know whats wrong but a fever shouldn't last that long its not healthy need to get answers ASAP!

if she is coughing and you hear like there is gunk in her lungs it could be pnamonia, my son just had it in janurary and they thought it was larengitis, with the tynonol and motrin his fever wouldnt go down, i used tempra and advil and his fever went down a lil, it took 3 trips to see a doctor plus 3 x-rays for them to figure it was pnamonia. dont try cool baths cause they dont do nothing. and take her tothe doctors or the hospital asap, it isnt normal 6 days i only found out on the 6days. hope she feels better soon.

I would def go to the Dr. They say if they have a fever more than 3-5 days go get them checked out. May take blood or may give abx.
I took her to the doctor three days ago and they said it was probably viral and that without any other symptoms, there wasn't anything else to do other than giving Motrin and Tylenol. I just get more worried with each day. We're supposed to go back to the doctor on Monday.
