At least 3 times a night. He was premature by 2 months. He had colic til he was 3 months we finally got over that and he started sleeping through the night. Now hes 6 months and is teething and waking up EVERY night screaming with his eyes still closed...and I'll go in pat his belly and put a binki in his mouth and he goes right back to sleep. But by the second scream of the night of waking up, he wont go back to sleep without feeding him. And sometimes he wakes up again...it makes for a very stressful night and a tired momma. Any suggestions? Please help!

Yeah if you've tried all that then it's just his particular cycle. :'( I feel for you so much. My son didn't sleep through the night for the LONGEST time lol. I mean he was over a year old. But sometimes it could be teething or they just want that extra comfort. Keep your chin up momma. It'll pass & you definitely aren't the only one. :-)

If you don't thnk he is hungry, try soothing him back to sleep without a bottle. But it could be he is going thru a growth spurt and even tho at 3 months he wasn't hungry in the night he is now. Its completly normal. Frustrating but normal ;) You could also try going in to get him to calm down without actually picking him up - rub his back tell him you are there - and wait for him to fall asleep again. If he is having night terrors he may just need a close moment with you to calm down.

It's most likely pain from the teething, poor baby it’s got to be uncomfortable for him. There is not much more you can do besides comforting him. Once the teeth break through the gums the pain should ease up. Just prepare yourself for sleepless nights since sleeping habits are known to change with teething phases and growth spurts. He's only 6 months old so you have lots of sleepless nights ahead of you. It's all part of being a parent. Sometimes you'll never be able to figure out why he's waking and you'll just need to be there for him, as tiring as it can be. Hang in there and good luck.

And I also tried infant acetaminophen. And teething tablets and gel nothing does the trick.

Thanks ladies. But he doesnt really take long naps during the day. Only about 20 mins. every hour 1/2 to 2 hours. He's always rubbing his eyes during the day like he's tired though. He drinks a warm bottle right before he goes to bed so I don't know how he could be hungry. He use to sleep through the night with no problem. Now he just wakes up screaming or crying. And I can usually just go in there give him a binki and he goes back to sleep with no problem. But it's just the fact I have to get up and down all through the night. But it seems like around 3am every night the binki won't work and I have to resort to a bottle then he goes back. I've heard of night terrors and all kinds of things. I just wish there was something I could do.

my baby is the same age and having the same problem, SO TIRING. I'll pick him up and rock him and he'll fall right back asleep and than I'll put him back down in his crib and those little eyes pop right back open again and he'll be screaming. I wish I had some advice for you, but I wanted to let you know you arn't the only one!!

He could be going through a growth spurt, he may be waking up because he's hungry. Also, if he's teething, he may be in pain, you could try giving him some infant acetaminophen at bed time.
When my baby girl is hungry, the pacifier works for a little while, and then she gets more upset, because she's even more hungry.

You could always try stretching out the times between naps. Try relaxing activities like watching a movie or something fascinating to him in place of a nap. Also try keeping the formula warm at night. That always helped my son.
