my7 month old is not sitting up or crawling. he does roll arond everywhere and grabs toys and stuff. im worried because other kids his age seem to be soo much futher ahead of him. He was 6 weeks premature...could that be the reason?

my son is 8 months...will be 9 on the 11th and he just started crawling a little over a wk ago.....he was full term....he isnt behind with his crawling so i wouldnt be worried about him not crawling and it's true dont compare him to other babies...they all do things on their time..when he is ready he will be on the go...and once he starts..he wont stop!!....i wouldnt worry...

Being born early does make them a little behind others their age. My daughter was a month early, and the health nurse told me to expect her to be about a month behind in her developement (according to the books). My daughter was a little behind other babies her age with sitting and crawling too. She started crawling around 8 months, shortly after she taught herself how to sit. Now she's almost 10 months and is walking like a little pro! My advice is - don't compare your little guy to other babies his age because all babies are different, and develope at their own pace! It'll probably take him awhile to catch up with other babies his age, but don't worry about it!

my friend has a child who was born 6 weeks premature also and he is also not crawling or sitting up. so yes it has a lot to do with being born premature, some babies just take a little more extra time, they like to do things at there own pace lol... but is your child receiving any therapy at all? because basic physical therapy helps out alot, not just with crawling or sitting but with other things that a 7 month old "should" be doing.... remeber all babies are unique and different in there own ways and sometimes standards are set on on what a 7 month should be doing but if you feel like something is wrong then you should def discuss this with your doctor and if you dont like his/her answer dont be afraid to get a second opinion...... hope i helped!

all children are different, i have 3 boys and they all did things at different ages, my youngest never crawled he just used 2 shuffle round on his bum until he started 2 walk. u might find that your son could b more foward than other children at other things.
