If you are breast feeding - try giving him a bottle of formula before you want him to go down for the night. Formula is heavier than breast milk and will keep him fuller for longer. If he is already on the bottle try giving him some water as he may just be in the habit.

try bathing him before bed and possibly feeding before bed it makes them relax, u can even add lavender drops to his water providing he is not allergic, or try massaging him with baby oil, playing soft melodies in his roomthis sometimes helps

My four year old was 3 before he stopped waking. Just because they sleep through the night once doesn't mean they can do it every night. Babies have differing requirements depending on what is going on with them. Before milestones, they wake more, during growth spurts they wake more, during teething they wake more. It is perfectly normal, and the sleeping through the night myth is just that. All babies do not sttn. In fact, it should be the abnormal thing for them to sleep through the night. Infant sleep cycles are shorter than adults and they just are not made to sleep for long periods, and that fact protects them from sleep apnea (a common thing among newborns and some older babies). Until 1 or old, they should still be getting 25 percent of their food at night, be it formula or breastmilk. Their metabolisms are faster than an adults, and their bodies are made to use the food faster, so when they wake to feed, they need it. When they don't wake, they don't need it. To think they can sleep 10 or 12 hours is crazy, but they can be trained to do so, which is unfortunate because it leads to some health problems. Despite some popular myths by certain baby book writers, it is not normal, nor healthy for a baby to be forced to sleep that long. Some babies can, and all babies sleep long nights now and then. However it should not be the norm.

My baby is a small baby and as much as possible I wanted to give her milk so she won't lose weight anyways, there is no harm on giving him the formula coz he is still a baby but if he is overweight you can use a pacifier instead of the bottle feed.

Dont worry about it, my 2 year old still wakes in the night for milk and my 10mth old often wakes, i just make sure there are dummies and a bottle of milk in the cot for her. i try to leave her. the other thing to do is if they wake at the same time every night wake them up 15 mins before hand and then resettle them that way they will get use to waking at the time then repeat may take a couple of weeks but it should work.

You might try adding cereal or something with a little more sticking power to it to his before bed bottle. My daughter went through a stage where she went from sleeping through the night to waking up in the middle for a feeding. When we started giving her cereal before bed she went back to sleeping all night.

I'm not sure whether you breastfeed or bottle feed, but my son has been doing the same thing, and he is 9 months old. We bottle feed, so we started decreasing the amount of formula we give him when he wakes up at night. He went from a 6oz bottle to a 4oz bottle, and has started sleeping through most nights. Next week it will be 2oz bottles...if he wakes up :) Hope this helps!
