My son is 3weeks old i cut and file his nails! you can cut them.. if you are scared to cut them you can try to file them... i do it when he is sleeping.. it is easier so they arent moving around as much. hope this helps.

Nope. you're fine to do so. I have a 3 month old son and they make baby nail clippers you need to use. Some older parents used to put there fingernails in the mouth and bite them off using your teeth.. but I prefer just clipping them with clippers.

My little girl was born with claws! If you don't cut their nails, they'll scratch themselves, and that's such a hard thing to go through...

My little girl is 3months old and her nails grew that fats i had to cut them when she was a week old because she kept scratching herself. I started to cut them when she was asleep and then when she was almost asleep and now she is use to me doing it while she is awake and i am more confident cutting them. you can get baby nail cutters that have a biggger handle and have an extra bit at the front that stop you from cutting too much off.

no you need to cut them! if they are that long they could hurt themseleves they really dont have to much control over there hands they kinda just fling them everywhere and rub there eyes u need to cut them and keep them cut you would want her to scratch her eye ball or anything like that

I started cutting my kids finger nails week one! They would scratch themselves and so I went and bought the baby ones. They worked perfect. I have also used the tiny little emery boards. Those worked also.

I cut my son's fingernails at 2 months. I just waited until he was taking a nap so that he didn't fidget around too much. It's a little nerve-wracking the first couple of times, but it does help get rid of all the little scratches. Good luck.
