I have heard their bones are too soft but have also heard that if she is trying then she is ready. She doesn't stand up totally on her own, obviously, but when leaning against my chest she is always pushing up against my legs and straightening hers, and she will fuss and fuss until you hold her up so her feet touch the floor and she will stand up with your help and sit, she is soo happy doing this and its me that gets tired. Should i stop her from doing this when she seems soo happy?

My son was like this too when he was a baby. From day one, he could hold his head up like a 4-6 mth old (or whatever age they start doing that, i forget already lol) and he was trying to stand quickly too. He was watching big brother all the time too, so he just wanted to go go go.im sure there's no harm in letter her do this, as long as she's not supporting all her weight on those tiny legs. When she gets big enough, get an exersaucer or a Jolly Jumper and let her go nuts. Adjust the height according to the products specifications, and just let her go. Both my kids loved their exersaucers and the jolly jumpers, it helped strengthen the leg muscles and prepare for walking.
We let our son stand with help and help him stand on us too and he turned out fine, his legs aren't bent or crooked.
Good luck with your little angel :)

Your child WILL NOT be bowlegged.. ignore that person above me.. my son has been holding himself up what they called baby push ups since i brought him home from the hospital at 4days old! And he will not lay down now he has to be standing up or jumping. Hes now 4 months old and IS NOT bowlegged. If your child using his legs to stand up or push up would hurt them they wouldnt age walkers and jumperoos from 3 months and up!!! Right?? Hun you have nothing to worry about.

right on ladies, i am male but my first and only and new wife lol..has ideas that differ from mine about letting a baby walk, we didnt now eachother for too long i met her online, so far after sweating on the computer looking for reasons not to allow my baby to walk on her advice it is bad,i have found almost nothing to state babies developed deformities from early walking..there is not enough proof to take the pleasure away them. So i conclude, is more than 90 percent safe, as over 90 percent of aged mothers say it is fine :) just saying stressful types dont always rule the roost...or do they? 90 percent plus here say its ok, my pediatrician say it is ok..but stress, i would never stop my baby girl hush walking. she even likes it..i promise she stops crying. i think walking practice is not dangerous, it is not the military and shouldnt be stopped for any reason, for my baby :) old types. sorry early life pros, the tale is officially old for me. my baby loves to walk. may i be at peace.

Most babies are more advance than others and she just might be trying to see where her limit is on strength. I'd let her be, she's happy.

There is nothing wrong with her doing it naturally on her own, but don't pressure her to do it often (let her do it at her own pace). Their leg muscles are far from strong enough at that age and it could cause problems down the road if someone forces her to do it.

My little boy was doing the same thing at about the same age. He only wanted to stand. Once he found out that he could he would not let us put him down. I heard from so many people that this would make him bow legged but when I showed his doctor she said it was ok. Just watch out for when she starts standing on her own because without good balance she will fall and hit her head. This happened many times with Troy.

All babies sit stand crawl and walk when they are good and ready, they know best themselves what they are ready for. You cant harm the bones by doing this in fact it helps strengthen them. My little girl would stand on your lap from the day she was born, but she never walked till 14 months. Mind you as a new mother i didnt realise that what she did wasnt completely normal and at 13 months found out she had a hip partly out of place since birth.

I actually have a family friend who is a peditrican doctor and I expressed my concern to her about my daughter when she was standing up around that age too! She told me that she is strengthing her legs and that it could be possible that she will be an early walker between 8 to 10 months. My daughter began to walk at 9.5 months. Be prepared mama!!! Hope this helps.

aww that is soo cute!! and aint it nice to have a happy baby full of energy:) if she likes it then there is really nothing wrong with it...and i think when u hold her..the whole weight aint all on her legs so i dont think it should do anything to her bones!

i dont see anything wrong with it... the docs will even tell you. dont try to make your baby do things its not ready for...but if she is doing them on her own (my daughter does the same) embrace it she knows what she can and cannot handle!
