My 9 month old daughter will only fall asleep in her carseat, which wouldnt be so bad if I didnt have to walk her around the room while carrying her in it. She weighs 23lbs so it's really starting to take it's toll on my body. I was wondering if anyone eles had this problem and how they fixed it! My husband doesnt like hearing our baby scream so the "Cry it out" method will have to wait untill he's more open to it.

My daughter had colic when she was younger so we did car rides untill those didnt work anymore and then one day when carrying her to the car in her seat she stopped screaming, we've been carrying her to sleep ever since (about 6 months)

Thanks for listing!

Last night I started "Cry it out" and it is working amazing! 30 minutes of crying last night (we were expecting alot more) 20 minutes for first nap today, an hour for second (almost went in a got her!) and tonight for bed time nothing, rolled onto her side and has been sleeping soundly for 30 minutes! Hope it keeps going this well. Thanks for all the tips!

Sounds just like what I went through with my LO. Have you ever heard of the Nap Nanny. They work wonders for colic/reflux/gassy babies. I know for us, our LO never would sleep anywhere except for her car seat or in our arms because she really wasn't comfortable laying flat on her back- as a lot of babies aren't. We tried the Nap Nanny and our LO went from sleeping 1-2 hours at a time to sleeping through the night. I honestly never thought I'd see the night when I'd be able to get a full night's sleep again. Incredible! I would definitely give it a try. The Nap Nanny is at an angle to the baby is definitely much more comfortable- relieving gas/reflux and held comfortably so they feel safe and like they are being held.

To top it off, they come in the cutest designs ever! Look into getitng one, it sounds just like just the thing for you!

Chrissy: Her doctor said do whatever works, we put her in her crib tonight and let her cry it only took 30mins so not as bad as we thought. Now i'm on pins and needles listing the baby monitor!

Carly: I have that same swing and she's hated it since she was a newborn, I also have a regular swing and she doesnt like it either. She likes us to work! Hah. When I try holding her close and rocking her she just freaks out.

Have you tried some sort of positioner? The angle of the carseat is the exact angle they recommend for reflux babies, maybe she has reflux. Even elevating the head of the crib with some blocks should help if that is the case. Either way, you should bring this up to the pediatrician.

You will definitely need a new method of getting to sleep, b/c those carseats usually have about a 22 lbs weight limit and I know your back must be killing you. Do you have a swing? I had one of those sweet peace newborn centers and the seat was like a carseat and you can position it to swing all kinds of ways and I think the weight limit was 30 lbs. Have you tried rocking her?

I feel for you! My oldest was like that too......I had to carry her around, holding her "tight" against my chest so the gas wouldn't hurt her so much. Have you talked to her Dr. about it? I would try and put her in her bed, leave her and try and let her soothe herself...I know that your husband don't like to hear her cry, but he might need to get used to it if it helps her. I hope that he has that open mind soon! :D Good luck!
