Talk with your doc. Have his hearing checked and call your local school....they can get you connected with the local AEA which does Early Intervention. Early Intervention is free....they will evaluate his speech and if they feel he would benefit from speech therapy they will get that set-up (which is also free). Big thing is is to do that now though. Once he reaches 3 yrs old the early intervention goes from an individual base to a group base. Group base is better than having nothing, but personally I feel it does not focus on each child's needs and if your child is needing more one-on-one the group will not meet that need.

My son is two now and he doesnt say mama...He sings yo gabba and says bye, hi, thx, and oher words but no mama...so i say if your child is saying other words then just give it a little more time.

I didn't say my first word until I was 3 years old. Not mama, dada, gaga.. Nothing. I was completly mute till one day I just started talking.

Have you checked his hearing? I would take him to and ear, throat,nose doc.

My son didn't say mommy or daddy till he was about a year and half.. but we have medical problems and was told to get speech help.. Try to find a thing called Early Intervintion and they should be able to help you.. if your child isn't talking they will give him speech and that might help you... but its ok.. don't get to worried its normal..
