I made a cleaning schedule for myself. This way I make sure things get done though out the week. Even the things we dont normally see much of. Also schedule in what I will be making for dinner, ect.. Of course I will try to keep everything tidy all day so the schedule will have just the main things I want to focus on that day besides all the little extra details that are done anyway.

Starting Today:

Monday- Mop, Seperate Laundry, Clean Bathroom (that goes as far as scrubbing tub, toilet, ect..) Dinner: Spegetti with Meatballs/Garlic Bread/and Salad.

Tuesday- Wash Clothes (All Clothes). Takes 2-3 hours at laundry mat. Fold and Hang up clothes, Dust Blinds/Shelves/Furniture. Dinner: Chicken Tacos/Rice/Beans/Salad

Wednesday- Mop, Clean Refrigerator and Wipe down Stove. Dinner: Fish Burgers (sides vary), Fish sticks for 1 year old.

Thursday- Clean Bathroom (Same expectation as Monday), Make sure rooms are decent and clean and nothing has gone totally wrong if so pick up a little more than usual today. Dinner: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup

Friday- Mop, Seperate and Wash Laundry, Throw away Old un-eaten food in refrigerator and wipe down stove. Dinner: Daddy is suprising us with dinner today
.
Saturday- Take a break. Today is family day. Go out, Eat Out, have fun and Enjoy your day.

Sunday- Mop and mak sure all rooms look tidy, Maybe do some deep cleaning today? Go threw drawers and Cabinets, Closets or boxes stored with miscellaneous items. Dinner: Strogenoff (sp?)

Everyday Expectations: Pick up after yourself and your little one constantly through out the day. Dont let things sit and pile or add up. Husband takes out the trash daily. Mommy gets One Hour every other day to go to the gym. If you didnt go today make sure you go tomorrow. Dishes get washed after every meal and if that doesnt happen it gets done when kids are in bed (Dont forget to shower too).

Thank you Maggie for posting what you just did. I answered in one of the other OP in the welcome group and as usual so much of the time moms responded with things along the lines of they'd rather spend time with their kids than clean. Your post here shows how my day is. Yes I clean on a schedule and my home is very clean but the majority of my day is spent with my kids just like right now out in the backyard with one wandering around the other crawling on my back lol When we go inside my house will be clean and orderly so that everyone can find what they need and I can spend time with them not searching the chaos. Again thanks

To answer you question. I just sat down and wrote it one night when my girls where in bed. I thought about all the things I tend to look over or say Ill do it tomorrow and they never got done. I realized one day that I had not cleaned the bathroom almost a month. I took out the trash and that was usually it. In the kitchen I never really cleaned the fridge until I couldnt fit or find anything anymore and the stove would usually get to the point that wiping wasnt enough. I had to soak and them scrub the crap out of it just to get it clean. The floors had shoe marks all the time, sticky and never seemed clean. Laundry was done once a month so there where piles of clothes. Yes Piles, it was horrid. Not having a washer or a dryer and the thought of taking two under two down to a laundry mat was frightning. I rarely moped. Swept yes, picked up toys yes, but moping was not something in my normal day routine. Trash was taken out daily by husband and dishes where done when they could be. Sometimes Id leave them sitting for as long as two days. With this schedule things just seem so much easier, organized, and clean.

I have two girls. 18 months and 6 months. On Mondays I mop I usually get up in the morning before my girls wake up. I mop the Kitchen, Bathroom, and My Bedroom. When they wake I put out toys on the living room floor. (Blocks, Colors, ect..) I then proceed to mop there room. Then later in the day when they take a nap I mop the living room. I do it in steps not all at once. Laundry I let my 18 month old help me. She loves helping seperate clothes. I can sit 6 month old near by with a toy. As long as she is in the same room we are all okay. Then the rest of the day is all about my girls. Sometimes we go out to the park, mommy goes to the gym, or we do some errands. When you leave your home there isnt much to come home to and clean. If we stay home I just constantly pick up after my girls so it doesnt add up. I try to wash dishes after every meal. If at the end of the day there are dishes I just wash them at night before bed. I also clean the bathroom at night or early in the morning before the girls wake up.

Tuesdays- I take the girls acouple building down to the laundry mat. Husband is usually off in the daytime on this day so he can help me take the girls down there or he will stay and watch them at home. If he isnt home I take the double stroller and load up the clothes on it, put 6 month old in stroller and let my 18 month old walk beside me. Once home we put away clothes. 18 month old likes putting away her socks, ect.. She is my big HELPER. haha. Then dusting is like a game for my littleone. She has her own special duster so she will help me dust the blinds and her own furniture in her room. Dusting is easy and not hard work at all. haha. The rest of the day is all fun and play and picking up after are selves constantly through out the day.

Wednesday- Same mop routine as Monday. As for cleaning the fridge I pass things to my 18 month old and say trash. And she will go toss it in the trash. I will hand her the duster and she will go off and dust around. I try to distract her. My 6 month old is usually in the highchair in the kitchen playing with toys or enjoying a yummy mum mum or some cherios. It takes about 15 minutes to clean the fridge. Once you are on a routine its not much work to keep it clean, because it is mostly clean already. The stove is also about a 10 minute job. Open the stove and wipe clean. Wipe and wash burners. Stove is pretty clean especially if you wipe it after everytime you cook anyway. The rest of the day we do as we please.

Thursday- I dont have any special chores other than the bathroom, so I try to do this early in the morning. Then the rest of the day is pretty much free.

Friday- Same mop routine as Monday. This day I dont wipe down the fridge only peak in to see if things need to be tossed away. Then we do the 15 minute wipe inside stove and clean burners. Seperate and wash laundry. I do alot more this day it seems because I know the next day we wont be home and That means Sunday and Monay I will have some major catching up to do if it doesnt get done.

Saturday- Family day.

and Sunday- Same Mop Routine as Monday. The rest of the day I just look to see if anything extra needs to be done. For example maybe I didnt wash clothes on Friday, So I would be doing that today.
