my girls were always constipated from like day 1 lol, an ounce or 2 of prune juice works wonders. We also always used the childrens suppositories, they say ages 2 and up, but doc said use half, we barely had to use them, all we really had to do is put the suppository partially in there for a bit, i know it sounds beyond weird, but a lot of the time the stimulation from that just makes them go, and the suppository melts slowly so it "greases up" the pathway....there is no other decent way to say that lol. I still keep the suppositories on hand for just in case, they have always worked wonders, and it's made mostly of sugar and is like petroleum jelly ,but harder. hard to explain. its called pedia-lax and comes in a jar (not the one in the bottle) run it past your ped. but im sure he will recommend these

my son got really constipated at that age and juice and water didnt work!! if you find it doesnt help you can get a laxitive type medicine over the counter at the chemist, its called laculose and is safe for babies to have regularly. whenever my lil man is constipated i give him 5ml and he's cleared out within a couple of hours! xx

When my daughter was that age, she was really stopped up too. Her doc said to do half and half at first and if that didn't work, use the baby juice but don't dilute it all. He said that if you don't dilute when they aren't stopped up then it could cause diarrhea.
Pear juice worked better than anything for my little girl... but of course, ask your doctor
