Congratulations! Little girls are so much fun. We chose Ava Elizabeth for our daughter. Ava is a traditional name that you don't hear all that often and there are a ton of middle names that sound great with it, Marie, Katherine, etc... Good luck!

Our 2.5 month old daughter we named Isadora, our other ideas were Keira but it was too common, if we were to have twins (one boy one girl) Damien and Damita. Or Katerina.

Hi there we are due to have a another boy, but we wanted to use Ophelia for a girl name. Very old Greek name that was also used in a Shakespere play.

I was the only Renee in my entire school from grade school to high school. I have a son, but if and when we have a girl we picked out a name Chyenne Alexis. Kalisia, Toni, Kelsey Jo, Haley, Miranda, Dolly, Violet, Bobbi, Jeana, Beverly, Joy, Annette, Michelle, Mary Jo...

I have a girl named Holly with the middle name Loretta (grandma's name), and at first we liked it, but now we LOVE it. We use middle names with both kids, so she's always Holly Loretta and it fits her perfect. Now we talk about how much we like Loretta that we could of given that as her first name. And what's nice is, Holly if a 'normal' name but we have yet to meet another child with the same name.

Having meaning behind the name will make it more special.

Also, go in with a couple of different names and then when she's born, you can look at her and know what her name will be. With my son I changed his middle name right before we signed the birth certificate, because it just didn't fit him. It was mass confusion calling everyone back to tell them the name change, but looking back now, it was worth it.

I'm pregnant right now and it's a girl! I'm having the same problem as you, can't seem to settle on a name. but Here are some good ones. Lydia, Rebecca you don't hear very often. That's my name and their were only a few with that you can also use Becca or Becky for a nickname. Becca is way cuter, but I'm not bias or anything :P. Kaia is unusual it means Pure. Have fun picking names I know I am!

Congrats on the little girl they are so much fun. I have two girls Emmaline, and Claira Elizabeth, both names get rave reviews from all who meet them.  Here is a few of the names I considered: Olivia, Abbigail, Georgia, Isabelle, Allamae, Elisa, Gabriella, Madeline.  I like to call my taste in names, classic and different so hope they are helpful.  Enjoy your princess!!

Hi Heather, I suggest Makayla, Kaylee, Alyssa, Abigail, Destiny. good luck!!

I love the names Allegra, and Xanthe. Both are very uncommon here at least and more 'old fashioned' names.
If our recent baby had been a girl, I was going to use the name Bianca Lynette (Lynette after my aunty). I also loved the name Brinna, but no one else in my family did!
Other pretty older names are Adelaide, Claire, and Felicity.
GL, there are soo many pretty girl names I could have named all four of my kids easily if they were all girls lol.

i chose Kaydence for my little girl (original spelling - Cadence) i was told that this name is pre-victorian so it was nice to have an old name thats not common.

her middle names are Aletheia (greek for truth) and Jayd, i know its more commonly spelt Jade, Jayde but i wanted something a little different and pretty.

a friend of mine likes Sioux (pronounced suzy) and i also think Sage is nice but spelt Tsaige.

good luck with it but remember initials play a part too i really wanted dakota olivia, but couldnt as her initials would be D.O.G  but best of all have fun with it you dont get to name a child everyday. good luck with your pregnancy

I love the name Briar Rose. It is actually the real name of Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora). Around where I live, Riley (spelled a ton of ways) is really common right now.

oh and www.thinkbabynames.com also gives you a popularity graph - American - for a name (if your wanting to avoid a more tradtional name making a comeback - like Ruby)

I also like traditional names that aren't used a lot right now. My daughters are Mary and Mae. I haven't met another Mae yet :)

we went with a non traditional name for my daughter Jolie...which we love her grandfather's name was Joe Lee...get it! But the only problem with going with a uncommon name is that people don't understand it when we tell them her name. She gets called Joleen and Julie a lot, mostly by elderly people who don't hear very well... we travel a lot and are around a lot of different people. Since we don't want to explain her name all the time we just tell people to call her Jo or JoJo!

My daughters names are Aralynn and Lorelai but if I were to have another daughter ever I'd like to name her Angel Elizabeth.  Angel is my Mom's name and Elizabeth is in my husbands family.  I'd say try and pick names that mean a lot because of family.

That was what I wanted too, when I was pregnant with my daughter, we named her Hannah. SHe is 1 of 3 Hannah's in her class. I found out too late that there is a cycle that girls named seem to go in (and it was time for the Hannah's). I found it in Parents mag. Try to look it up online. that way you are getting something normal but not too common.

I do really like Molly, Cara, Julia, Sidney, Ella, and Reece

I hope this helps, and Congratulations, and Good luck

I like the same thing ... we are considering strong last names used as a first name ... such as Kennedy or Carrington ... as well as finding a traditional name that we like and finding a different translation of it.

I am guessing you are talking about names...

My first is Aurora which I am complimented on all the time.  My second is Olivia, which apparently is very popular right now, but still beautiful.  Both of them you can make kind of "cuter" with Rory or Rora and Livi.  I LOVE my girls!!  You are going ot have so much fun.
