Kagen just turned one on the 21st of may and he just recently went from being an angle to a brat that screams CONSTANTLY!! i have no clue why, we haven't changed anything and he doesn't have to be doing anything to scream. He will be sitting in the floor playing and start screaming bloody murder! how do i teach him this is not the way we act before i pull all my hair out!!!

by the way, i posted this in welcome to circle of moms and in young moms that way i could get more advice :)

i dont think it is separation anxiety although i do think he has separation anxiety at times. but when he is doing this we are usually sitting in the room with him and he is staring at me screaming. and i can leave the room and he is fine. i believe his separation anxiety kicks in around nap/bedtime. he is teething so i guess that could be the problem, but he is cutting his 6th and 7th tooth so it is not his first go around with teeth and this is not how he acted for the first five teeth. it is more or less like he is being a brat and i want to teach him that we dont cry to get our way...anyway of doing this with a one year old?

seperation anxiety can start to kick in around this age- is he flipping out when you're out of sight??? jjust a thought
for my daughter, when she throws a fit for no apparent reason, I wait to see if she can calm herself down. You'd be amazed how many times simply walking away and waiting a few minutes can get them to deal with it themselves! :)

Is he teething, constipated, hungry, or gassy?? Did you start him on whole milk yet?? If so maybe he is having a hard time with it... just go over the same checklist you would if he was an infant. Good luck

i haven't had to deal with this but i would imagine trying to distract him when he starts crying would help if you are really worried see your doctor they may be able to help more or even your health visitor
