My little girl is only 10 weeks old, and I feel pregnant - seriously??

So... My Serenity is only 10 weeks old, and I have already had a period (she's been sleeping through the night - 5 hours at a time - since she was 2 weeks old, and now is up to 10 hours each night). I have been having TONS of pregnancy symptoms since Ren was about 5 weeks old, and they are just getting worse. I tested when I would have been approximately 5 weeks pregnant, if I ovulated during that first cycle (my hubby and I didn't make it past 3 weeks before resuming da lovin'), and the test was negative, BUT I know that I could have tested early. I've been waiting all this time for another period or for the symptoms to go away, but they aren't, and I haven't had another one. Have any of you had this happen? Were you really pregnant that fast, or was it something else?? I am exclusively breast feeding my daughter, so I know my hormones are still a little whack, but I swear, I feel exactly like I did when I was pregnant with her those first 2 months. I'm going to test again when my hubby gets his next paycheck in 2 weeks, but I am curious to hear from you between now and then...

Thanks for sharing, Rebekah - good to know that can happen! I don't want to spend money on a test, so I think I'll just wait it out. I'm nursing, so I'm living a pregnancy friendly lifestyle, and as you say, if I am, it will show itself in time ;)

I have a lot of pregnancy symptoms when I'm nursing: No period. Sore breasts. Nausea, most commonly in the morning or when I wait too long between feedings. Fatigue/exhaustion. Headaches. Backaches.



After my 2nd child, I literally took a pregnancy test once a month (just in case). My period did not return until my daughter was 14 months old, but I swore I was pregnant every few weeks. This time around, I've had the same "symptoms." My son is 9 months old and I think I'm pregnant pretty frequently. I have not taken a pregnancy test, but I figure if I am pregnant eventually it will show itself... and it hasn't, so I'm assuming it's just my nursing symptoms again. That may not be your case, but I know that nursing can really mess with your hormones too. And if it means anything, I'm also on the mini-pill.

Thank you for your response! I'm seriously considering just making an appointment with my midwife and asking her to run a test. If I am, I am. But if I'm not, I'd like to know why I feel so weird, you know??

its extremely easy to get pregnant after having a baby, your cervix is wide open and your hormones are still in pregnant mode making it a great mixture for an egg to be very fertile, and easy to stick, and easy to have access to.

You are probably pregnant if you didn't use birth control.

If your exclusivly brestfeeding chances are u wont get your period till u cut back not uncommon but its also not uncommon to get pregnant right after u have one if u dont use percaution make an appt with ur ob thats the only way you'll know for sure or try another test but still make an appt it could be something else some cancers hold the same symptoms so its important to ask ur doc

I was in that same ordeal. My kids are 11 months apart. You might want to talk to your OB about it. Because the way it sounds is that you are.
