My baby was eating about the same at that age. He's now 5 and a half months and is eating a jar of baby food a good sized bowl of cereal and 8 oz bottle every 6 hours of so.

My little girl is 3.5 months and eats 5 oz every 3 hours until 7 pm when she goes to sleep and sleeps through the night til 7 - 8 am. She would like some real food though...she practically drools when she sees my 5 year old eating yogurt. We gave her a taste one day and now she is wanting it! I am trying to hold off until she is 6 months though, I guess that is supposed to be the standard for all babies.

I think it depends greatly on the size of the baby my first son was smalle and he ate breast mile every two to four hours and didnt start cereal till five months my oldest was a LOT bigger and when i was breastfeeding him it was every hour wich got a bit ridiculous and he was eating cereal at 3 months on top of his formula... your baby knows how much he or she wants and they will let you know..

Mine isn't here just yet (one week left), but my mom said she fed one of my sisters at 4 months instead of six like the rest of us... It was because unless she did just a little rice with breast milk mixed in before bedding her down for the night... she'd wake up and fuss because she was hungry again. But as long as he's digesting it and the doctor says it's working fine... then it should be fine I think.

My son was eating cereal at 3 wks by doctor's instructions and was still eating 8 oz at each feeding. He ate in the schedule of a regular new born just double what he shouldve been! I was breast feeding and pretty much worthless with all the milk I was producing. I started supplementing with formula but continue to breast feed. He started solids early and has been a happy child ever since birth. I can't ask for more. He's my life.

Every child is different.  I have four ages 9, 7, 5, and 2 and all of them ate differently.  My oldest was eating cereal in her bottle at the same age AND wanting 8oz of formula every three to four hrs.  My 7 yr old, was eating rice in her bottle at 2 months and took 8oz of formula every around every six hrs, my 5 yr old didn't eat cereal in his bottle until he was around 6mons and had 5oz of formula every four hrs and my youngest ate cereal in his bottle at 4mons and drank 5oz of formula every three hrs and wanted juice too.  I use to have to make three different bottles at a time and let him taste each one to decided which one he wanted.  So don't worry, they are all different.  And besides, babies are suppose to be chubby :)
