A 504 plan is special thing that gives accomadations to the child. Like my son gets extra testing time, more teacher direction and anything that he is suspose to copy off the board is put right in front of him. Its the little things that help these guys. If you need to ask the school for an advocate. They will know what that is. Its someone well trained to be on your side. I hope things work out for u!

Thankyou its nice to know there is people out there that are going through the same thing. I never heard of that before could you explaine the 504 and what it is please. The doctors are trying to get us help in going to postive parenting class and other routes, before medication. My son has a IEP and has some support but there is somethink missing that no one can put the finger on ie me and my hubby. I hope you are ok and the family and being strong person its nice to chat on this that people dont understand .Ive spoke to some professions and wating on them to get back to me on the 22nd jan through the school xx

I have a 6 year old with ADHD and autism. Believe me its tough. The first thing that I would do with the school situation is you need to tell them that you want testing so that he can get a 504 plan. Its a nice stack of paperwork that gives his accomadations so that he can have things like extra testing time and help. I would stay about from meds for now. They are so many more options out there that can work....The schools are required to help. Talk to your sons doctor about your concerns. There are checklists that they can give you to give to his teacher that will help the cause.
