I was just wondering if other working moms also had this problem with their little ones. Norman is 14 months now, and I am so happy with the daycare that he is attending during the day, he gets stimulated well, and have developed tremendously since his first attendance. My concern is his health, he constantly gets a cold from the other little ones, thy are nine 14month babies in the class, was just wondering if other moms, also experienced this with their little ones.

When I put my daughter in preschool at the age of 2 (she only went 2 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs each day) she was sick constantly because she wasn't used to the different germs that are carried by the other children. Their little immune systems are not capable of handeling everything yet, but I do promise you that it will get better. Also, you can look for vitamins for his age.

I work in daycare and have for years and I see this all of the time. Their immune system is still weak and being exposed to so many different germs they are going to get sick. It even happened to me when I first started working in daycare, for the first few months I was sick constantly. It will get better the more he is exposed to the different germs, until then you can just make sure that he washes his hands enough and just comfort him when he gets the cold. Hang in there!

Hi there.. I had the same problem with my daughter when she started daycare... she started when she was 2 months and was sick all the time.. on the end taking her to the doc every week for infections and stuff the doc basically said all kids go through it as they not use to all the germs but as they get older their immune system kicks in and they get over it quicker or don't even get sick. I give my daughter the same as Uzanne Scotts Imulsion and it works like a bomb helps her during those really bad winter months when every child is sick and some mothers can't keep their kids out day care due to many reasons. Good luck and hang in there it'll get better as he gets older and the more germs he gets exposed to the better as his immune system will just get stronger. If you really worried take him to his doc and he will tell you what your way forward will be and if you really have to worry.

yer i have worked in childcare for the past 8years and it is something that all children go throught no matter the age, but his immune system will slow build up and he will soon become immune to most colds and flu,
So think of it has ruff before the calm

yeah my boy is the same. he has a weak immune system n picks up everything n gets hit twice as hard with it. unfortunatlt startin nursery n being in contact with other kids will do this. as he is gettin older he is gettin better. im trying to look at it as a positive. hopefully gettin all these bugs will help develop his imunity xxxx

how long has he been in daycare for?...when i started my daughter in daycare i found she was getting sick sooo much.

it lasted for about 3 months on and off...more sick then not,lol...

but by the 4th month i found her immune system had improved soo much!...and when she does get sick it only lasts for a day or 2.

With my daughter she was getting sick cause she had never been exposed to soo many germs. being in an environment such as daycare the germs were very concentrated. parents would take their child to school even though they had a runny nose or a cough..so its essentially a never ending cycle. As soon as ur child get better a parent will take their sick child to school and it all begings again!

but like i said in a few months their immune system should strengthen . if ur child does get sick try and keep him out for at least a week. enough time for the sickness to do its round in the daycare..hopefully.

Good luck!..also feed ur child LOTS of fruit and veg and vitamin c products...search for things that will help build his immune system.
