My daughter slept that long at night after 2 weeks also, she is 1 now and perfectly ok. In fact she is still a really really good sleeper!! I would not worry about it:)

If you dont feel as if your child isnt waking up because of a lack of energy, sleep well at night, let him to sleep and feed him more frequently in day time than once in 3-4 hours.

i have a two year old and a 4 month old and they both slept through from day one ! for the first 2 weeks i obviously woke them up but after that they slept right through sometimes for even up to 12 hours !! the health visitor said i was lucky to have good kids that slept so make the most of it cause it doesnt last forever due to teething and other ailments children my suffer from.

omg no!!!! i have a 3 week old baby and you are supposed to feed them 3 or 4 oz. every 3 hours even if they are asleep and not letting you know they are hungry you have to wake them up!!!!!!

hey!!! when my boy was 2 weeks old he was sleeping about 6 hours! i remember the first time he did i woke up in panick. i woke him up for a feed then went back to bed. i told the HV and she said not to wake him up unless you are overly concerned. so i left him. he is now 8 weeks old and he sleeps 10 hours!! i think if you wake him he will get used to the waking up times and he will then want feeding all the time. my son gets messused every week and his weight is going up. so i don't worry about it. but it did shock me at first. some babies like to sleep more - don't complain. i'm not lol.

if you are breastfeeding I would recommend waking. If you go for too long without nursing your body starts to notice and tells your brain you are not nurting a baby. You can ovulate sooner if don't feed your child at least every 3 hours.

my daughter was like that too- right from the beginning! I would wake her up after about 5 hours and feed her- both because i knew she needed it and i was becoming engorged. At two months i stopped nursing her, her weight was fine so i stopped waking her and she would sleep about 6-7 hours straight. I think during the first two months they should eat on a pretty regular schedule- after that, it's good to work on a sleeping schedule too, he will wake up then if he is hungry. But for now, remind him to eat.

lucky you that he sleeps for that long!! my babies have all been different, i had one that slept through since birth, one that woke a few times in the night for feeds, and one that only slept for an hour at a time!! all were happy, healthy babies with no problems. you will find as he gets older he will remain as laid back as he is now, enjoy him and try not to fret, he likes his sleep, try and enjoy yours.....

Ask your doctor. If the baby is hungry he will wake or cry. I would think that you should let him sleep and appreciate the extra sleep that he's allowing you. He will probably not stay with this sleep schedule, babies go through all kinds of sleep schedules in the first few years. But, as I said, you should ask the doctor just in case.

My son did the same from birth but 5-6 hourly. The midwife told me to wake him every 3 hours and I did so and was up 3-4 times a night until he was 11 months old which killed me having a toddler that doesnt sleep during the day. your baby lets you know what they need and when they need it, you are its mother and you know what your child needs best :-)

you should definately NOT wake up the baby to feed, I have two and they both slept all night long from newborns and i never woke them up to eat. your baby will tell you when they're hungry or sleepy etc., just watch for his cues, if he wants to sleep LET HIM SLEEP.

Just let him sleep, He'll wake if he's hungry. You should be happy that he's sleeping do long at night, most people don't get that!! :-) Seriously, if he's happy, healthy and putting on weight then there's no problem. Every baby is different.
My son was the same when he was a baby. He's now nearly 2 and a half and perfectly happy and healthy with a great appetite.
Get some sleep while you can!! :-)

My son was sleeping thru the night at 3 weeks old. His doctor said as long as he is gaining weight than there shouldn't be anything to worry about. I personally wouldn't wake him up, He will wake up and let you when he is hungry. He isn't going to starve if he doesn't eat for 7 hours. I wouldn't worry about it. Be happy you get to sleep! Some mothers don't even get 2 hrs at a time

I was waking my daughter up every 4 hours at night, cause she was the same way. At about 5 weeks I talked to my Dr and he said it was ok if they are getting enough thru the day. She has been sleeping thru the night ever since!

My daughter ate every 4-6 hrs even right after she was born. The nurses all told me to wake her up. She needed to eat. I didn't listen. She was a nearly 8 lb baby and perfectly healthy. As long as your son isn't looking sick or anything, I don't see why you shouldn't let him sleep. He may be sleeping through the night already. That's ok. Some babies do that. Both of my kids did that. Of course when they woke up in the morning they were hungry. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as he's healthy and acting normal it's no big deal.

This could obviously go both ways... in my opinion as long as your baby is gaining the reccommended weight and is not showing signs of jaundis (yellowing of the skin which is a sign of dehydration & malnourishment) they are receiving enough food during the day to get them through the night... And trust me the faster they become accustomed to sleeping through the night the easier life will be for you! My son is 1month old and still wakes up every 3-4 hours wanting to eat!

By 2 weeks - and assuming he's been gaining weight appropriately and producing enough wet/dirty diapers - I would probably not wake a sleeping baby for a feed.

my son is 7 weeks old and he slept for 5 hours at first. they are spose to feed every 3-4 hours but as long as he isnt losing weight and is putting on atleast 150g a week and has atleast 5 wet heavy nappies a day it's ok. All that means he is getting enough food and will stay healthy.

the only time i was told to wake them for a feed is during the day. my dr always told me for both boys that if they sleep at night let them sleep. when my son was in the hospital for 2 months the nurses never woke me up (i slept at the hosp at night) .if he went over 3 hours. they always let him sleep. i personally would let him sleep

Experts say to only wake them for a feed if you are nursing because your breasts may get swollen and engorged. And, NO they do not recommend it unless you are breast feeding...but, suppose all doctors and nurses are different. My doc told me when he is hungry he will let me know...he obviously needs the sleep more than the food. hope this helps :)

Dont worry bout it my daughter was the same as long as he is drinking plenty in the day and having lots of wet nappies he is fine. He sounds like he is a very contented little baby. If a child is hungry they will let u know.

I wouldn't do that I would wake the child up and feed him. Babies need to eat ever 3-4 hrs. PLUS they need to get their diaper changed. Diaper rash hurts them.

it is recommended that you wake your child up every 2-3 hours in order to feed them. however, i know some mothers who have had children sleep thru that night at that age. if the child is getting ample feedings during the day, he or she may not need to be feed during the night. It is always best o consult your pediatrician.

My oldest did the same. My doctor recommended waking him up, but we let him sleep until he was hungry. They are going to let you know when they are hungry and they too need sleep. I wouldn't worry about it.

Honestly, i would not let your baby sleep that long with out a feeding. If he is only 2 weeks old. Some babies have a hard time waking up, but you should wake them up every 2 to 3 hours to feed him. If you have doubts bout my advice, thats okay but you should consult your babies doc. immeditly.
