When in doubt about medication dosing you would be best to check with a medical professional (doctor or pharmacist) - there are reasons that medications have dosing instructions and altering them may have adverse effects...

No. My son is 7-- almost 8 and passes for 11. If a regular children's dose of tylenol doesn't work for him trying giving him a different medication that is still children's but may work better for him. Children's tylenol does not work for my son, but children's motrin does so that is what I give him.

Call the doctor. Even small over-doses with tylenol can be harmful, so you want to make sure he's getting the appropriate dose.

I would ask the doctor, because my doctor always went by my son's weight, because if he's not getting enough medicine to get through his system, how will it help his pain? Thats my opinion anyway. ;)

if you look at the ingredants on the adult medicine and the children meds its the same kind. just dont give them as much. give them the recommended dose as a childs med.

My daughter os a very large girl. She is about the size of 12 or 13. The doctor told me in her case to give her the dose recommended for her age not her weight.

I'd check with a doctor, but I think the age is important as well as their size, because how toxic it is depends on the maturity of the liver. I know you have to be really careful with dosage for young children. I know nothing about older children though sorry.
