The soft tipped sippy cups worked great for us too. My son always wanted to bite the end of the sippy cup instead of just sucking, so the fact that biting the soft ones made it open for him worked wonderfully.

I am having the same problem with my daughter and i have tried every kind of cup out there even the sippy cups with the three different nipples, she didnt want anything to do with them...if you find something that works let me know!

There is a cup by nuby it has 3 transition nipple tops. One is like a nipple of the bottle, next is like a sippy cup and the last is like a straw. We are still working with the first one after a month and my daughter is 8mos. old. Good luck.

i used the soft top sippy cups at first too.... which worked. and i stole from the suppernanny and asked the bottle fairy to come, we packed up all the bottles, left them in a tree, and in the morning there was a present for her. And with my second daughter i told her that the little babies needed them, and she didnt since she was a big girl, so she gave them up willingly. good luck!

I didn't think that it would go over well with my almost 1 year old and a regular sippy cup didn't! Then a friend suggested a cup with a straw so that they still have the sucking motion. The Playtex ones are great!

when i took the bottle away from my son (at 12 months), i just took it away one night and never gave it back. the first couple of nights were sorta hard, but he eventually got the hint that the bottle was never coming back. and it was finished. Your son will drink the milk sooner or later from a cup, if thats all mommy will give him. just hang in and be strong once you take it away.. dont give in and give it back. show him mommy means business. maybe take him to store and let him pick out his "BIG BOY" cup. that way he may feels its his special cup ya know?!??! well i hope this helps a little. good luck, and stay strong momma!!

My daughter was the same way. They now make the sippy cups with the soft tops to kind of transition them. It worked for my daughter, it may be worth a shot.
