I have been exclusively breastfeeding my daughter for 9 months but the time has come to start weaning. I've been told that I can slowly start giving her whole cow's milk. Please tell me about your experiences. I'm needing all the advice I can get. Thanks

Well around 10 -11month I started to wean my son to milk. I didn't want to introduce formula for only a month. But I think 9 months might be too young for milk. Then again you are mom so you know best. But just be aware that she might have a milk allergy, My son did and I used soy milk for about 6-8 months.

As far as the weaning goes, slowly take away one feeding at a time over periods of weeks. Leave night and nap feedings for last. maybe start with a midday feeding first. If you are getting uncomfortable express a little milk but not much because the more you express the more milk will come in.

If your daughter does not like the taste of milk try mixing it with breast milk 1/2 and 1/2. then slowly add more milk and less breast milk until you are on just milk.

Good luck. I have breast fed both my boys for about a year each so if you have any questions you can always ask
