You have got to use Karo syrup. It's like a corn/starch syrup. Just put oh about a teaspoon or so in a bottle twice a day and that should make things start moving along. Having a backed up baby is no fun. I know this. Good luck!

when my son had constipation he was about 8 weeks old when he had it pretty bad where i could see he was really struggling to poo. i gave him about 30mls of warm water (previously boiled from the kettle then left to cool to warm temp) it seemed to help. he left me a lovely suprise after that...lol

DO NOT USE HONEY! Don't give honey until he is past one year old. Honey can carry botulisim spores that can make your baby VERY sick. Their intestines are not mature enough to break down the spores like adults are.My son had constipation problems too and I spent every diaper change for 2 months working his legs and massaging his belly. Make is legs go round like he is riding a bicycle but push them up to his chest and bear down gently onto his belly. If you want to try massage, use lotion and go clockwise around his belly button. The decending colon moves things to the left and down. Keep trying and if all else fails use a q-tip with lubrication (vaseline) and insert it into his rectum...GENTLY!! You dont have to put it it very far, but it will help stimulate his push reflex. Dont use this method often because he will lose the reflex because he will get used to the q-tip and not be able to go on his own. Hope this helps and dont get frustrated...he will get better with time.

My grandmother swears that if you take a rectal temperature it will help and if all else fails get some ivory soap and put a little up there... I've never had to do it but I know it was done to me and other family members have done it with no issues.

I had the same problem with my son and daughter. I take 3-4 prunes and boil them in about cup and half-two cups until the water becomes light golden brown. let it cool and mix oz of prune juice with one oz of water. It always works for me. My only concern with your daughter is that she is premature and this remedy might affect her differently.

you can lay him on his back and squeeze (gently obviously) his legs up into his belly repeatedly, this plus the warm water helped my bub! Are you breastfeeding? If you are try having juice and licorice, prunes things that would normally make you a bit runny and this will translate through your breast milk into bub! If you're not breast feeding try changing the formula! The other thing is to "massage" his buttom hole, just with a babywipe or something this will stimulate the muscles to contract and ease the poo through?! Hope this helps
