I went through the same thing with my daughter. It started after her shots and juice. i started letting her go with no diaper. fresh air is best, i also tried different creams the only one i found worked was sudocream. i only used it once and i noticed a big difference.

When my daughter was younger she had diaper rash so bad she had open bleeding sores we tried everything! The only thing that worked was a cream called Paladin u can find it at walgreens! It was a miracle cream she was completely healed in 3 days

My daughter had this same problem....she was so bad that it was burning her skin! I had to air her out for a whole day, no diaper (may get messy). I tried everything, Destin burned her, and my sister-in-law gave me Nystalin and that made it worse! So I tried BOUDREAUX'S BUTT PASTE and Corn Starch! the best ever..... cleared her up and did not burn her bottom!

When my daughter was6 months or so we had the same problem. we used a baby cream callled triple butt paste. Not sure where you live but our Walmart and Martins carry it.

Change as soon as you know he is dirty and use petroleum jelly on the rash area. The petroleum jelly help keep the moisture off his bottom and private parts.

hi my name is kathleen my daughter bianca gets nappy rash we use a cream called daktozin it is a cream we got from the chemist it is used for fungal infections and to treat nappy rash we got it when my daughter kirsty who gets excema got a really bad case of nappy rash it only cosst $9.95 we also found with our children that we can't use any nappies with perfume in it like hugghies or baby love as it affects them if your son has had diaoreha for 8 days i would take him to the doctor when my daughter bianca had her 4 month old needles she only had it for 2 days bianca is now 10 months old hope that advice helps

Emilee Snider has the best cure, wash the butt with clean cloth use the blow dryer on warm setting -keep your hand near the perineum (Bottom) so you know how warm it is- follw with a heavy covering of vaseline (easiest to remove and less discomfort) destin or butt cream of your choice. Nystatin that was recommeded works and is needed for a yeasty diaper rash. Use the blow dryer and you will see 100% improvent within 24 hours. Emilee is a NICU RN and I am a 30 RN

Well mixing different kinds of ointment could make it worse. if it really bad put baby powder with the pure corn starch on it to keep him dry. Also try just using just using baby vaseline

I worked in the NICU for 5 years and I have seen my share of bad butts.... But the thing that worked the best with my kids was creamy destin mixed with the over the counter womens yeast infection cream. Clean the bottom with warm soapy water pat dry( rubbing only causng the skin to become more irriated) and then air dry. We would go into the bath room and use the hair dryer. On the lowest heat available and hold about 12-14 inches away from thier bottom. This helps dry the rash out faster..... Push fluids keep him hydrated....

shots, teething and illness can cause this sort of problem... wipe with a wet baby washcloth or just running water then let his bottom air dry every diaper change... just be sure to lay him on a towel or something waterproof... and then replace diaper with corn starch change soiled diapers right away... good luck

First of all will you please read The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears? This is an allergic reaction. Second of all go to your local health food store and get Baby Acidopholis and start putting that in his bottle it will help with diarrhea. And try triple paste diaper rash creme.

Seriously, if your son has had diarrhea for 4 days or more he HAS TO see a doctor. I wouldn't worry too much about the diaper rash until after he's seen the doctor and been treated for the diarrhea and probable dehydration. He may need IV fluids.

well there is a fantastic cream i use on my little girl when she has a bad rash. Its called bepanthan. it should clear it up within 48hrs. Just keep applying it though whilst he has diahrea jst a protection to prevent it coming back. Also if you are concerned about the diahrea take him docs jst peace of mind, and they can suggest some stuff that might help :) xxx

For the diaper rash by far the BEST thing i have ever used on my son is called BOUDREAUX'S BUTT PASTE I know it sounds weird but it will work i promise you. My son had the same thing with his shots and it was raw on his butt i was so worried an i called the emergency room an one of the nurses actually told me to try it, and he was cleared up completely by the next night..Hope it works for you.

use vaseline for the nappy rash and coz baby is so young i ould advise you to go back to the doctor. when babies can't poo you give them sterilised sugar water to make them poo and when babies have the squirts you're suppose to starve them until it passes and give them dioralyte sachets for dehydration, but because your baby is so young i wouldn't suggest starving him! hope this helps ;0) xox

my little girl was the same,the doctor tested her for this bacteria in her stomach that makes them diahrea all the time,the test was negative but even now she 9mnths old she still poops 5 times a day but its harder so i put the diahrea down to her milk.hopefully once you start yr baby on solids his poop should harden.for the nappy rash i would stop using any wipes for a while and just use cotten wool and check that its not thrush round the nappy area because no creams will work untill the thrush has gone.ive just recently tried this with my daughter and it works,she still gets nappy rash all the time but she has really sensitive skin i think its the plastic in the nappys rubbing on her.hope he gets better!

as far as rash.. you might want to try milk of magnesia on his booty. Sounds strange but it works really well. As far as dehydration water and formula. Good luck mama.

Poor little guy =[ Make sure he's getting hydrated with breastmilk or formula and also give him a little Pedialyte after each diahrea. Start with 1 - 2 oz. and up it a little each time. We did this when my daughter had the flu & it really worked. Also, if you started solids this may be causing a reaction. We use Aveeno on our little girl when she started getting a terrible daiper rash & it really worked wonders. A&D also works really well & I've heard that Butt Paste works really well too. When my daughter had a terrible diaper rash recently (due to an allergic reacion) her doctor told us to put Neosporin on the raw parts of her rash 3 times a day & diaper rash cream in between. If you think your son isn't getting enough fluids (lack of wet diapers & sunken in soft spot) I would talk to his doctor to make sure. Hope the little guy gets better!

Hi! I can only reccomend what has worked for my son! After a bath or cleaning I would let him dry out and get freah air by laying him/ sitting him on a towel. When he was all dried out I used Butt Paste. The Butt Paste brand (can be found at Target) seemed to be the best! I would also fluff powdwr to prevent the diaper from irritating the rash more!... it can take discipline and can seem worthless but... taking the extra time pays off for baby and you! xo... hope baby gets rid of that rash soon!!

Sounds like it's time to call the doctor. If a child has had diarrhea that bad for more than 2-3 days he runs the risk of dehydration. Call the doctor ASAP.

Oops, I forgot. Also if he's having terrible diarhea, make sure he is getting enough formula to replace the fluids lost. You can always use the wet diaper count to make sure he's hydrated enough. If you aren't sure, call the doctor. It never hurts to be too careful.

I suggest using aquaphor or vaseline/petroleum jelly to cover the diaper rash after it's fully dried (otherwise it's just trapping the liquid on the skin). Contact the doctor before you use nystatin or lotrimin because they are both anti-fungals and you don't want to use them if you don't have to. I think the nystatin is by prescription only anyway.

When my son gets bad diarrhea we have him on a strict pedalite diet.Our ped. said that it helps replace the nutrients he has lost.He doesn't always take it but she said when he is hungry he will take it.For the diaper rash we have used A&D ointment with zinc oxide or pinxav(pink savle).We also try to let air get to it so we would just lay him on a waterproof mat for a while and let his butt air out,

I would have suggested the corn starch because it worked quickly with my three, but I see you have already tried it. The next thing I find that works well is vaseline. I would try let his bottom diaperless so it can air dry and heal up a bit. then when it's good and dry apply vaseline and the diaper. Hope it or something works so his little bum can get better!!!! I would definately take him to the doctor. My daughter got sick after her 2 month shots and ended up being hospitalized for dehydration because she was pooping so much. Hope he gets better soon, keep me posted

Airing out his butt will help as the air will help heal it. I also put my son in baking soda baths, just letting his butt sit in the baking soda. Also putting milk of magnisa on the raw areas also help. If it doesn't get better, then take him to the doctor and they will give you a prescription. That stuff works great and having that on hand when they have bad rashes helps! I hope your guy feels better.

for the diarhea I used to mix pedialyte with purreed carrot babyfood, u can try that and see if it works, that's if the diarhea hasn't stopped and for the baby rash try mixing the desitin with vaseline it worked with my son hope the little guy gets better.

when you go to change him, use the warm water like you've been doing and then let him air out in an area where you can easily clean up any accidents he'll most likely have! i would lay him on a cloth diaper maybe, but air is supposed to be the best thing for diaper rashes. when my daughter had the worst diaper rash i'd ever seen in my 2 years of mommy-ing, i'd let her air out for a few hours and then put "butt paste" diaper cream on her. it took a few days since it was sooo bad, but it worked.

The same thing happened to me with my 6 month old when she got her 6 month shots! i dont know if it had anything to do with the shots or not but i had to go to the doctor and get a medicated butt cream! It seemed to help a lot but something else you can try before going to the doctor is at Sam's they sell something called pinxslav ( pink salve) its behind the counter so you have to ask the sells associate for it! but that stuff does wonders for my baby girl! hope this helps!!

try giving him pedialyte only give him maybe a 2 ounce bottle here and there it should slowly stop it and clear out his system we put my daughter on it for a day and we also used a&d ointment
