Hello my daughter will be 5 in Jan and she still accidents only bowel movements she claims that she didn't know she had to go. When I asked the pediatrician she said she is probably constapated and put her on meds I'm not sure if that was correct is she just being lazy or could it be something more? Please help I'm at my wits end

Emma is the same way to she is usually playing with her toys or outside playing with her friends when it happens that's why is asked if it was just her being lazy

When my son was that age, it happened to him a few times. After going through what could be the problem, I realized that they are young and just learning how their body talks to them. Every time he had an accident, he was playing or doing something that he enjoyed very much. They become so involved with what they are doing, they ignore their bodies signals. At least that was my expierence.

My daughter had constipation problems since an infant, and she still had accidents up until a few months ago. Shell also be 5 in january. I wasn't giving her enough of her prescribed miralax, so she was scared to go on the toilet, and would go in her pants, but when its soft enough, she goes to the bathroom no problem

No as a matter of fact its usually stuck in her butt I know t.m.I sorry usually just a little goes in the underwear and the rest I have to wipe out

Is it loose stool? My daughter is about the same age and had that problem suddenly. If its loose then that may make it harder for her to get to the bathroom in time. You may need to make slight changes in her food or juices.
