Hi co-mommies, my name is Ashley & I'm a new mom. My daughter was born August 30th. I moved from Iowa to Illinois when I was 7 months pregnant. I left my family (big big family) behind & I'm finding it really hard to do this virtually alone. My fiance works 50 hours a week & is a part time student so he's not really around that much. I'm very lonely & really miss my family & friends & having adult conversations. Does anybody have any advice?

Hey Ashley, I'm sorry you are so sad and lonely...it must be horrible to feel that way and have a new baby to take care of! My husband travels and is gone for 3 or 4 weeks at a time, so I know the feeling. Look for community ed classes that you can take with your daughter or find story time at a local library. They are both great ways to meet other mom's that are trying to get out of the house a little. You might even think about putting an ad in the paper to start a Mom's group yourself. There are tons of other people out there that are probably looking for the same thing you are! Good luck!

The webcam is a great idea! Also google mommy groups in your area - it's a great way to meet people who understand your lifestyle! Good luck:)

Im sorry to hear this Ashley, it is hard moving away from loved ones, just try to get out as often as possible maybe look into the newspaper, hospital or a school and see if they know of any places were you can go and meet other parents, might also be able to look into different classes you can go to and meet other people while possibly learning other tricks for parenting ( i went to a disopline class called 123 magic) which is awsome and even though your daughter is so young im sure they wouldnt turn you down. Other then that you might want to invest in a webcam and have your loved ones do the same

best of luck and congradulations
