i wouldn't worry about it hon. You will be able to lose it back off. Nursing will help. I did that with my last 2 but I was really sick and nauseas the first 4 months of the pregnancy. My body made up for it. at wk 24 the baby is really starting to put on weight. just make sure you are eating healthy and it should all work out. :) Best of Luck.

Hi. I put on 4 and a half stone being pregnant with my daughter. I got married in july, just gone. I have had to go on a strict diet to lose my baby weight, as i brought my wedding dress b4 i found out i was pregnant, and obviously being 4 and a half stone heavier it no longer fitted me. lol. She is just over 5 months now and i am still on a diet and have just over a stone to go till i am back to what i was. Dont worry about hte wieght gain just as long as u and your baby are healthy. x

Breast feed!! I put on a ton and was back to less than my pre-pegnancy weight within a month .I will admit though the only problem is stretch marks when the weight increases so quickly - but a healthy baby is worth a few stretch marks!!

I agree with everyone!! I did the same thing with my daughter....My dr actually told me I needed to stop gaining weight if at all possible and I did, but it wasn't anything I did different, it was just how she was growing. So no worries!!

i gained 60 lbs for each of my pregnancies and lost it all. this is the only time you can eat pretty much what you want, and shouldn't worry about ur weight. it's for the babies health and if your healthy your doing great.

Don't worry! The weight is for your baby! And as long as you exercise and eat right, you'll lose it! Besides, you usually lose about 10 - 15 pounds when the baby comes out, depending on the weight of the baby, the fluid, and the placenta. But you'll be able to fit into your old jeans in no time!

Well is this your first child? Because every pregnancy is different. And just try to find healthy food to munch on and become a little more active. I have 2 and 1 on the way and this pregnancy my doctor told me she doesnt expect me to gain any weight. However I still manage to go for those late nite cravings and eating hot pockets and shtuff but i am making better choices and may i recommend a tape that is around 12-16 dollars at walmart "Walking with Leslie Sansone" its really easy to do! And it will help manage your weight during.

Hey Congrats for the baby on the way! Wooo, gaining weight...I gained 50 and then after the baby another 30 and then another 10. You're doing good! Keep up the good work! Oh and I freaked out too at one point then I just gave up LOL.

remember if you don't gain the weight needed for your pregnancy then the baby is not healthy. It can cause problems in your childs health. Don't fret! Its normal to have spurts of weight gain. Your baby is Growing! It can all come off after the baby is born.

I was only weighed at my first appointment so I never had to go through that! Im quite glad though as I got huge all over! Dont be sad though as its easy enough to get back to normal once bub is here, especially if you breastfeed. Enjoy your bump, you will miss it when its gone xx

Do not feel bad at all! Remember that is healthy weight! I gained 85 in my first pregnancy! And lost it super quick! You will be fine! =)

Shame hun, I know how you feel, I have to tell you what helped for me, after my girl was born I brestfed, yes it is a bit sore, but it is good for my baby, AND all my pragancy weight and MORE I lost with breastfeeding!!! Is`nt it great! Good luck :)

if you are worried, drink more water & join a prenatal yoga class (for both physical fitness and any psychological issues you may have with both pregnancy and childbirth), not to mention the fact that being around all those preggo women will definitely make you feel less uncomfortable or abnormal because it's getting progressively harder to do everyday stuff :). and cut out salty food, i know you're craving it, but you should eat it in moderation because it makes your body retain more water. i've had freakouts like that throughout pregnancy where one week check up i'd gain 10lbs and next week lose 3. so go figure, i think it has to do with water retention. just eat balanced, eat healthy, drink a lot of water and if you can, walk as much as you possibly can -- i walked about 3-5 miles a day pretty much every day & prenatal yoga twice a week. all that worked miracles -- i was fine and walking around doing almost everything by myself (except cleaning the bathroom -- it was hard to scrub the back wall with a belly), i could go anywhere, i didn't need to sit down every 2 minutes and i bounced back from a c-section (i was preparing for a natural birth but at almost week 41 never went into labor and they couldn't induce me and let me labor without serious risks for the baby). but i was in the hospital for 3 days, went to take the baby for a walk (about 2.5 miles) the day after i came home, stopped taking my painkillers a week later & pretty much had no problems since. good luck to you and hang in there!

Oh don't worry about it. I was the same EXACT way. I've only had one child, but i gained 57lbs. I was only gaining like 1 and 2lbs every month and when i started going every 2 weeks i gained 5 then 2 weeks later i gained 9. it was awful, so i know how you feel. but at the end your supposed to gain more, but i think bc i gained so much in the beginning i was not gaining anything at the end

aww don't worry :) i gained almost 60 lbs with my first! and now (im 31 weeks preg) at my last check up i had only gained 2 lbs, but the one before that i gained 9, and the one before that i gained 11.

Enjoy it. It's the only excuse you will ever have for pushing back from the supper table after eating too much and letting your belly hang out!!!! We try to be so perfect the rest of the time.

I understand because when weight is still there after the birth it is hard to get back into weight loosing activities. I also gained a ton of weight while I was pregnant but never did I sit and stress about it while I was pregnant. No need for that extra stress for myself or my unborn child. I'm happy and as healthy as can be 9 months later. Still not stressing.....!

Don't feel bad no one has ever gained as much as me started at 98lbs with my first delivered at 260lbs took five years to loose it put on the skinny jeans took the test positive for second and delivered at 240 after getting down to 137lbs still working on loosing from the second he is nine months. You'll be fine and you'll loose it I did the first time and I will this time so will you. Breast feeding has helped the second time around. It eats up some calories for you.

I gained 37 pounds with my daughter...and an additional 23 of water weight after my c-section...but after, it fell off like nothing. In like a two day span I lost 20 lbs! Now, 9 months later I only have 15 to go, but I am breast feeding, so it takes a little longer for me...but it really does come of quick! No worries...you are eating for two, I dont care what anyone else says!

aww don't worry I was tiny tiny before getting preggers i was like 95 lbs (on a 4'11 frame i might add) and after baby was born i was 155 yikes! but with very little work (though there was work and breastfeeding involved it wasn't a battle) im now only 115 :) so don't worry your body is gaining the perfect amount it needs for baby! you tummy is bueatiful btw!! :) i had one week were i gained 15lbs so i know how you feel :) hang in there it'll be worth it once your LO is here in your arms!

Don't feel bad. If this is your first pregnancy then you are going to gain a fair bit. For a healthy pregnancy you want to gain a minimum of 25 lbs.

DON'T CRY. You will be Just fine. I gained 75lb with my first born. Just like you "POOF" I gained weight. He was born that April. On August of that year I FIT MY WEDDING DRESS. All the weight was gone.

I thought oh cool. The came #2. Gained 50lb this time. He was born July 25. August 6, I FIT MY WEDDING DRESS again.

So, don't panic. It's all baby. Eat healthy, watch your blood pressure, and your salt intake.

FYI Diet drinks contain SALT, and artifical sweeteners have been linked to lower brain function in babies. Try to stay clear of DIET anything. Just be healthy. If you MUST HAVE something like pop, have some, but try not to drink the diet stuff.



When Baby is done with you then go back to diet stuff.

I gained 20kg's with both my boys don't panic its completely healthy to gain extra weight during pregnancy. Find out from your mum how much she gained with you? Just think the weight your gaining is for the baby you will loose a fair bit of it rapidly after delivery. Alot of the weight is the amniotic fluid and the baby not you really.

Dont feel bad if you have gained weight. I gained a total of 20 lbs during my pregnancy, and during the 2nd trimester of it I only gained 1 lb. My doctor was worried about that, and had all tests done to check my baby. It turned out that my water was below the critical level and at 7 months the doctor said if I continue to drop the water level we might induce, that was stressful. So I had to take a lot of water and we were fine. So do not stress as long as you and the baby are fine. Anyway you will shed those weight after giving birth, believe me.

I remember watching the scale and thinking Oh my God ten pounds in a month! AHH and yes I knew I was eating things that I thought "oh well I am pregnant I can have chocolate when I want to." looking back I know I could have chosen healthy foods instead of lots of sweets. It does happen to alot of women though and water weight gain is a huge one! I know how you feel though and it'll all be ok! I used to be a size 0 so I had some big adjusting to do. After I had my 1st one it took a while but I did get back down to a size I was happy with just in time to get pregnant again hehe. Just relax and think you are pregnant and this is normal!!!

dont feel bad i gained 52 lbs with my pregnancy and i have lost 34 lbs of them. so dont worry about it. if your doctor said not to worry about it, then dont think about it. pregnancy is a beautiful stage of our lives. even if we have extra pounds on us. cause we look beautiful

i gain 50 lbs 6 oz with my daughter... and she and i are both healthy as now.
who cares if you get a bit of mumma chubba... as long as you are eating all the right things like red meat and veggies it doesnt matter.

your doctor will let you know if he is concerned about your weight gain.

the only time the doctor was concerned was when i put on 4lb 5 oz in one week... i was 36weeks, about to finish up at work and the stress of it all made me retain fluid.

listen to your doc, he knows what he's doing... and be proud of your lovely pregnant body no matter what shape or size it is!!

Remember it all epends on what you weighed before you got pregnant...and also remember that the baby puts on the most weight from the 7th to the 9th month...its all fat they are gaining so don't worry....you and the baby will be fine!

Girl enjoy the moment and know that with pregnancy comes weight gain! Look at the bright side....you'll have a precious little baby soon :) You can lose the weight but you can't re-live this one pregnancy. Enjoy Enjoy! Plus you gain the most weight in the end...there is more to come! It's not that serious.

i am and have always been very VERY on top of my weight. pregnant or not. i was also devistated when i would step on the scale at the dr office and realize i gained 10- 12 lbs in 4 weeks. just like you. this happed 2 months in a row once on my 6 month check up and my 7 month check up. i just went in for my 8 1/2 month check up and i had only gained 4 lbs. my dr told me that woman either gain most of their weight in their 2 or 3 trimester. with my fist pregnancy it was all in my 3 and in this pregnancy it was all in my 2. i was freaking out thinking i was going to gain too much weight i would never loose it. but after just going for my check up and realizing my weight gain hasnt been as much lately i feel better. hang in there. exercise and eat right you'll be okay. i feel your frustration thou.

with my first son i was all baby i went back to 130 in about 2 months...and yea i had alot of water and ma son was big 7.lbs14oz...so it will go away

Don't freak out. If your Dr. says your fine... then your fine. It is normal to gain a good amount of weight during your pregnancy. You'll be ok sweetie, keep your head up. You know what might make you feel better, if you able to, take a nice relaxing walk around your nieghborhood or maybe the park, listen to some music, or go with a friend. :)
