I am nursing exclusively anywhere from 8 to 12 times a day. My daughter is 2 months. I take the mini pill religously everyday. How protected am I from pregnancy? Anyone have any suprises? Also I know this is TMI but did you use other protection, did your husbands "pull out" sorry to be graphic but I really want to be safe!!

I've had 3 kids, breastfed exclusively for over a year with all 3 and took the mini pill. I never had my period or got pregnant. There was no other birth control methods used. I did try to take it the same time every day like recommended.

Danielle, breastfeeding is actually a natural form of birth controll! For about six months after giving birth...breastfeeding allows your body to heal...this includes protection from pregnancy. Sometimes/some people call this LAM (Lactational Amenorrhea Method). While a woman is continuously breastfeeding, her body does not make a hormone that is necessary for ovulation — the release of an egg from an ovary. Pregnancy cannot happen if an egg is not released.
Using breastfeeding as birth control can be effective for six months after delivery only if a woman does not substitute other foods for a breast milk meal
feeds her baby at least every four hours during the day and every six hours at night
has not had a period since she delivered her baby.
That being said....it is perfectly safe for you to take the mini pill...if you have spoken to your dr. I think the fact that you are breast feeding can only help you with protecting you against pregnancy. So if you continue to breastfeed and take your pill...you should be just fine!
