older kids in "toddler play areas"

today my son and I had a fun day, and we ended it by having ice cream and then playing at an indoor play place. now he just turned 11 months yesterday, so he crawls alot and cruses some. we went to play in the designated "Toddler Only" play area. the whole time we were playing the much older kids (9to14) would run in chasing each other and jumping all over the play equipment. and besides the fact that the stuff isnt made for that kind of abuse, they held no regard for the toddlers, (us and 2 others). they would knock them down, cut them off, and more... my son alone was pushed several times (even though I was right there) and when he was climbing the stairs to the slide a boy ran up the steps around him and actually stepped on my sons fingers! another time an old child threw a shoe at his friend, missed, and it bounced off the wall at hit a little toddler girl in the head.

and all the time their parents just sit there and say nothing. and this is NOT the first time this has happened to us. am I the only one who see this happening? do yall think old kids should just stay out of the younger kids area?

No, I didnt say anything since numerous different employees where in and out "cleaning" the dinning part I figured no one would care or do anything.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I also know that is not just kids being kids, my sisters 4 and 5 year old are very polite and when they are out playing I have even heard the older one call out a friend or stanger for not paying attention "hey hey- watch out for babies!" babies being anyone shorter than him lol.

We have a play area on post were my husband is stationed and there are two areas, one for older kids and one for younger kids. I always feel that the older kids should stay out of the littler play area for those that need a calmer play. But the little ones that play with the big kids should expect to have bumps and bruises.

Oh please tell me you went and told a manager or something! How awful! There is a reason why it is a toddler's only area! Older kids should stay the hell out and their parents should keep a better eye on them.
