I have used every kind/type of diapers out there and i still haven't found one that won't leak.. My son is 2 years old and my daughter now 9 months old.. I have even went as far as buy night time one to put over top of a day time one at night time and that didn't help either... So now my daughter is having to have her bladder checked to see if she has some other issue going on that she is having such a high out put.. My son has slowed down on the leaking but still every now and then has troubles.. ( we are starting to potty train) Over all let me know if some one has any ideas to help out a mommy who is be awoken at 2 or 4 in the morning cuz she is wet and is mad.. So we change her, bedding, blankets, Ect... She goes to bed at 7:30 to 8:00 pm just depends on her... When she is back up at 8:00am and is soaking wet again... Any advice?? Thanks every one...

She is in a size bigger then she needs due to the a birth defect... That and my mom also told me that might help with leaking... (didn't LOL) With the Plastic liners i am not able to use those on my daughter because of poor cerculation in her legs... ( 9months old) My 2 year old is in the biggest we can go with out going to pull up and those are a joke.. (sorry just my thoughts on them) Thank you for the suggestion though.. I may try the cloth one under the normal diapers.. We didn't have many problems at first with pampers it started when she was 5 months ( so 4 month adjusted)... Once again Thank you so much for the help.. Am not sure what else to do....

I am more worried about my 9 month old baby girl who is floating out of her bed... My son really isn't having problems.. i do limit how much he drinks before bed time... Also with my baby girl it is hard to descibe what she is doing.. I mean one day she may wake up and be almost dry and then the next day she is floating out of her bed.. (i guess that is the best way to put it) My son didn't have this problem as bad as my daughter.. He did it maybe every couple months and it was after (aunt and family gave him Soda "thought is was cute" i didn't like it all) But she is nursing and having food thats it.. So any advice with this extra information...

Yes, we have had he stay up later and that just makes a worse night.. She is 9 months old and still not sleeping all through the night she is up bout every 4 hours..This was started from her being the NICU (she only spent 6 weeks, but doesn't care for change at all) and we never have been able to break the habbit of getting up every 4 hours.. (we have tried every thing) So will still do the every 4 hour diaper change.. So you figure she is going to bed at 8:00pm then back up at 12:00am then up at 4:00am then 8:00am.. So she is not sleeping for a full 12 hours.. I am sorry to say but no baby should have to be changed that often at night, but if i don't then she wakes up and is soaked all over.. It's not that i have a problem doing so, it's just that i know that she is not resting when she sleeps do to this problem. She only takes 1 nap a day and the is only for 1 to 2 hours. (on a good day) During the day i am changing her every 2 in a half to 3 hours.. If i didn't she would be leaking during the day also. We go through as many diapers as a new born would and she is 9 months old.. I am just looking for some support and asking if any one else has gone through some thing like this..

Thank you to all the mom's trying to help me with this issue.. I know it is hard to understand what i am saying 100% but i am trying to explain it the best i can.. i am just not sure what else i can do for her so that she is resting instead of waking so often.. Once again thank you all so much.. I am just worried there is a bigger problem at hand and am scared.. We will be finding out in a couple weeks if she has problems with her bladder and kidneys...

Thank you so much,

Andrea

I've stuck w/Luvs with both my children! I absolutely love them & the only time they've ever leaked is when the diaper was to it's max....which would happen w/any diaper! It's the only brand I use.

TARGET BRAND!!!! It's cheaper than other brand and it doesn't leak...I started using target brand when my baby was a month old and now she's eight months. I don't have to change her till morning...She use 3 or 4 diapers a day including night...Even if she make a big poop, it never leak, I love it and I highly recommend it...Trust me I tried huggies( the worst diaper ever) and pamper (still leaking) when my baby was new born to one month old until someone told me to try Target Brand...I got sold on my first try on the baby...the best daiper ever...xx

I had to find new ones when my oldest kept getting yeast infections..so we had to find ones that were hypoallergenic. Toys R US (Babies R US) sells an Especially for Baby brand that I love..they are soft, hypoallergenic, and I have NEVER had them leak unless my husband didn't have it across their butts all the way!! They have 2 kids..one is ultra and the other is a regular one..I use the regular ones without problems, and my 3 year old only wore one at night and would soak it by morning and it never leaked. Good luck diapers are a pain!

I have 3 boys, and have gone through most of them...We use Target Up&Up brand. Even compared to Costco's diapers the are the best value, cute looking, and rarley leak. Hope this helps :o)

I also use on my son (who sleeps usually 9-12hrs a night!!) the Target brand up and up. I recommend them to everyone and anyone. And they're cheap. $15 a box. I like the wipes too.

I hate Huggies!!! They always leak for me.... We LOOOOOOVE Wal-Mart's brand, Parent's Choice!!! They're WAAAY cheaper and they work GREAT!!! I love them so much, we've used them since my (20 month) son was about 3 months old and we've saved a ton of money and we never have any problems with them at all!

I thank you all for the advice.. PLEASE READ... I will let every one know if there is some thing wrong with my daughter that is causing her to wet so much.. As she will be seeing a doctor for this on Jan 20 2010.... 1) it is not due to her over drinking only has 25oz in 24 hours. 2) I don't need to go up a size cuase she is already in a size 4 when she only needs a 3.. So i am not going to put her in the same size as my 2 year old and he is 35LBS... 3) She is eating as much soild as they allow her to have.. 4) I am thinking that it is more then just normal baby thing..

Thank you all for the time and advice...

Hi! I've tried them all and I love Pampers Baby Dry. Huggies leaves behind this silicone type residue and Luvs doesn't really stop leaks for my little one (even though Pampers and Luvs are made by the same company, weird). The problem I've had with Luvs could be because I bought them a little bigger, but I'm not sure. Good luck with everything. I'm sure your little angel will be just fine!

Rebecca, She is only allowed to have 2nd step baby food and cereal.. (as told by her peds doctors with Gastroschisis) She eats Veggie, Meat and Fruit for lunch and Dinner all gone... So she is getting enoght solids.. Like i said before she is only drinking 25oz a day.. (they say she should be drinking 30 to 32oz) Thank you for your advice... My son never had this problem as a baby either... ( I still feel that she is have a problem due to the issues she was born with, her right kidney was bigger then normal) That and her BLADDER was OUTSIDE her body at birth... And as far as trying to break the waking up 3 times a night... I am so use to it that it really don't bother me any more. (I became use to it in the NICU with her) So if she wake I change her... She only nurses for 10 mins before bed..

Katt,

I agree with the making Pampers Swaddlers in a bigger size we never ever had this problem till i had to start the next stage of Pamper.. I never had any issues with huggies with my son.. (got lucky i think) I am using the 12hour leak proof ones on her and she still leaks.. (kinda crazy i know) I am not 100% sure why this is going on, but WE FIND ON IN 6 DAYS.. We are going for a Gastroschisis check up, bladder n kidney ultrasound and meeting with her neonatoligest doctor... Wish us luck.. Thank you all for the help and support of the issue with my little girl...

Thank you

Andrea

I don't fully understand, I suppose I've never had this problem but maybe twice and it was because her daddy didn't put the diaper on properly lol My Daughter gets REALLY heavy wet diapers in the morning and sometimes leak out a tiny bit from her diaper being so full. She sleeps full 12-14 hours tho, she has since 3 weeks old. I would definitely try cloth diapers the bamboo ones, they are a bit expensive but I have a friend who swears by them they are suppose to be more asborbable than disposable diapers! and maybe to save having to change her bedding put down a water proof mattress cover then just lay down some blankets so your not having to change sheets...I did this when my daughter had the flu and was puking fro 2 nights! My mom brought me back these toddler night time diapers and like they absorbed so much she could wear one all day lol i'm not sure what they were called tho! I use Pampers the 12hr leak proof ones! and loovee them...if they made the Pampers Swaddlers in a bigger size i'd still use those I absolutely love them!

My daughter will leak also. I find if she eats more then once during the night she will wake up leaking. If she just wakes up once she will barely be wet. When she did leak, like others have said, we uped the diaper size. We never had this issue with our son. We use pampers for our son and huggies for our daughter. I found the papmers aren't cut right for a girl and they leak like crazy on them. Huggies leak on boys i find. To get her to sleep through a bit longer at night, the only suggestion i have is to set yuor alarm 30 minutes before she would wake up and try changing her while she is sleeping. Then cut back the time every few days so she gets used to it. Is she fussy with jsut a bit wet our is she waking becuase she is full to the brim? Both of my kids could care less if they are sitting in pee, well my son cares now becuase he too is potty training, he is also 2yrs old. What is she eating for solids? Maybe she could eat more solids instead of filling up fully with milk? Good luck:)

Some kids are super soakers :-) Aside from checking her more often during the day, I have found that all diapers may leak regardless of the brand. We use generic's in our household for this very reason.

A tip for the soaked bedding at night:

Make the bed up in layers- Mattress cover, sheet, mattress cover, sheet. This way, you can strip one layer off and not have to wrestle with putting the new sheets on in the middle of the night.

Hi There,
I just wanted to offer up some advice as well. I have found that one particular brand worked for both of my kids when they were newborns and as they got older I just didnt like the way they fit. So, I changed the brand. You just have to keep trying until you find one that fits your child. Not all diapers are the same nor are children. Also, you should be changing your child every 2 1/2 to 3 hours any way. Not only is it recommended by pediatricians but if you look at state regulations for child care facilities it is the law that they change them every two hours. This really helps in preventing diaper rashes. Neither of my children have ever had a diaper rash and I thank frequent changing for that.
I dont think your night time routine is anything to worry about. My daughter never slept through the night until she was 3. The fact that your child is urinating so much is a good sign that her bladder and kidneys are working just fine. My son, whom is now 3, also wets a lot during the day (on the potty) and night (in the diaper). The simple truth is that if he/she is wet you change them. I dont think anything you have explained is in any way abnormal. Just keep in mind, diapers are only meant to hold so much liquid. If your child drinks a lot, try cutting back. I know this may not be an issue..just trying to offer the suggestion if it is. This can be very difficult if your child uses the bottle/cup for comfort. I hope this has helped!

Plus make sure his BUSINESS is down when you put his diaper on.I only use PAMPERS they are the BEST.Good Luck I hope you find out what the problem is.

Try using the reusable swim diapers over top. I did that when I had a problem with leaks & bursting diapers. They work great!!!!
I used to use Pampers quite a bit until they started to tear open. I would have the insides all over the insides of my 2 yr old clothes & my house, and you can't clean them up until they dry. This kept on happening so I went up a size thinking she was peeing too much, but it kept happening. I finally started to use whatever was cheapest of the no name brands & have not had a problem since.

Plus they are a lot less expensive...the sizes are great..I think they run a little big, but are easily adjusted...the sides are different than huggies and pampers!I hope that helps? my mum told me this trick, which was used by HER mum, back when disposable nappies first came out; they used to use two nappies at the same time for sleeptime. theyd use a penknife to slit down the front of the first nappy, right through the plastic/fabric (the only downside is that sometimes, SOMETIMES the baby ends up with a few of the absorbant crystals on their skin, but these wipe off easily); put that nappy on as normal, then put another over the top. i use the same sized nappies, but one up could work fine, im sure. with the addition of a cloth nappy underneath, i dont think ANYTHING could get through that.

also, with cloth nappies, we were in the same boat and didnt use plastic pilchers because they caused too much nappyrash. we actually used polarfleece pants, or woolen pants. they work just as well, and are quite stylish.

It depends on what you can afford...If you can afford Luvs then you can affor Pampers or Huggies...Just stock up on coupons in the mail and then use them on a instore sale..I have 4 children..2 of them are in Pull-ups and 1 in diapers...Price matters..Buy in bulk..its cheaper them buying just a quick bag or even a box atTarget..But don't feel bad about what diaper you send them in as ling as they got em okay..

With your daughter try not to give her anything to drink at least an hour & a half before she goes to bed(unless its her usual feeding time) & put a fresh diaper on her seconds before putting her in bed. I have used Luvs diapers for the past 2 years with both kids & never have had a problem with them day or night & they are the cheapest name brand diapers that are out there. With your son.... if your still using diapers I have found that putting my lil boys wee wee down before I put the front of his diaper on has kept him from peeing out if I dont it leaks out he's just 9 months also &so I dont know about pull ups on him yet.... but you might want to try keeping him in underware during the day even if your out so that he can get the hang of it & just put diapers/pull ups on him when he sleeps.

I have not had an issue since I changed to Target brand. i think i actually do my shopping around these! You might experiment with the size if they are too big/small that can be an issue as well. Good luck. :-)

Have you tried Kirkland brand from Costco? Those are the only ones I use for my son and I LOVE them. I've had next-to-no leak problems. The only time he has had a leak is when he's ready for bigger size diaper or if he's had a lot of water to drink. I have also found the LUVS brand to be the worst from my experience. Hope that helps!

I will be sure to let you all know if there is a reason that she is leaking through every diaper out there or if it is just she is drinking to much.. (all has 25oz a day)

hmm.. I dont really think any diaper is better than another. i dont believe that a bigger diaper will help either due to the fact that it allows looseness for leaking. When my babies were little i always had to get up around 3am and change them and once again around 8am. but they didnt go to bed til 11pm. Dont let your child nap during the day and dont allow them to drink fluid 2 hours before bed. Fed your 9 month old solid foods that will keep her full all night. I dont know what else to tell you. Babies are hard work and if you have to.. just keep getting up all night. Or have her sleep sitting on the toilet. Lol J/K.

i have the same problem with my son and have found that the size bigger actually makes him leak more (more room for it to come out around legs) i find i have the best luck with pampers (still leak sometimes through the night but not nearly as much as all the others i've tried), but you can get diaper liners (i've seen them at walmart) that you can put inside the diapers to give them an extra layer or two to help them hold more.

I like huggies and target brand diapers my son has explosive poop and they work most of the time you are gonna get a blow out every now and then no matter what you use. Maybe try going on a diaper changing schedual even stick to it if they poop and you change early that way you will have less of a chance of leaking. every two to three hours and see how it goes if you have to shorten te time do that

well my step mom puts my little brother in a size bigger diaper when he goes to bed and usually he hasn't overflowed the diaper. she only thought of it because he had to have a surgery where he needed to wear two diapers anyways for sensitivity and she just decided to try and it worked really well. i used to use pampers for my daughter because of the benefits of not just having diapers for her and the benefit of knowing when they were wet but also that each package paid for a vaccination for a baby in another country i found she didn't do well with those diapers over night and my step mom and my dad buy huggies and she sleeps with them fine without overflowing because they absorb a lot both her and my brother don't overflow unless they sleep for longer than they are used to. so i would try a bigger size and making sure its ofcourse a fresh diaper right before or as close as you can get to before they fall asleep.

i know that you said that pull ups were a joke and for the most part I agree they are just like diapers and therefore do no good for potty training...but they ARE just like diapers. My little boy would sleep through the night and then when he woke up and all day long he could shower the diaper his clothes and everything around him. No lie one time I picked him up out of the kitchen floor and he had a puddle of pee that had soaked through his clothes, so my mom told me to switch him to pullups and I did. I tried a bunch of diffrent brands and I have to say that Huggies pull ups work like a charm and definately not for potty training it doesnt work for that at all we just started trying. But as far as him leaking he has had very few leaks and he has been in them since he was 8.5 months bc he was HUGE and he could fit them then. The huggies have velcro sides so they really are like a diaper, pampers pullups are very absorbent but they have strechy sides no velcro, so the poos can be a problem sometimes, Huggies are the only ones that I have found that have the velcro sides. I would try it if I was you. Hope that I could be of assistance to you, and good luck on the potty training
