Ok first off you need some really good vitamins, secondly depending on your weight 1200 calories (I assume) is not nearly enough. Your brisk walk alone is burning through at least 300 calories minimum. So are you exhausted by the time the day is up?? Diet soda's are just as bad for you, all the aspartame that is in those drinks is awful. There are many different things that you can take to help build healthy muscle, lose fat and look good. Not be hungry and not be exhausted. By not giving your body enough fuel your not only losing fat but the weight you're losing is also muscle. The last thing you wanna do is cut into your muscle. I'll message you my email address and I can tell you more about all this stuff......

Same here, the only time my period was late was when I was pregnant. I've always had a regular normal period. I honestly thought I was pregnant last month.

I am 19 years old, and my daughter is going to be a year old, so I've had my paragard iud for almost a year, and this is the first time i've been 5 days late on my period, I'm not sure what to do, because I can't tell if I still have it in or not...Should I take an EPT or not?

[deleted account]

UPDATE--- i went to the doctor this afternoon to get my iud remove. Usually it cost about 150 dollars to remove your IUD without insurance. So when i got there the doctor only charge me 50 dollar. I was happy when i heard that the doctor gave me a discount. they didn't take any urine from me or do any pregnancy test today when i went in. I went in to remove my paragard because i was tired of bleeding over a month. I feel so much better now. I'm on the pills now, its called sprintec. The doctor told me to take two pills a day until my bleeding stop and then take one a day.

Update--After having the IUD removed yesterday, I am starting to miscarry. I didn't think I would be this upset, being only 4-5 weeks in and all. Thanks, Paragard. Eelaeng, all of you ladies, I wish you all the best luck. I'll keep checking in to see how you're doing and offering my support. Nobody should have to go through this. 99.9% effective my ass. I have seen very few instances of this happening with the Mirena, but Paragard seems to have a lot more unexpected pregnancies, miscarriages, and general disappointment. I remember doing so much research before deciding on Paragard, and thinking that there were a lot of women who thought they were pregnant. The problem is a lot of women only post on discussion boards like this when they THINK they're pregnant. They rarely share their results. I wish I'd have looked into it further. I still have to go into the doctor to get blood work done until my hormone levels go back to normal. They even said to me OVER THE PHONE, "Your progesterone levels were pretty low, we thought you'd miscarry anyway," when I called to ask if I still needed to come in. Incredibly upsetting.

Eelaeng, I myself have one of the most demanding 8 month old boys I've ever encountered, so I feel you on being scared. I didn't want to have any more for a few years, if at all. We were planning on moving at the end of our lease (May) from Colorado to North Carolina to be closer to family. I think we're going to have a harder time moving and finding new jobs with me being pregnant, so I am pretty scared. I can't believe I got pregnant with an IUD. And I just stopped breastfeeding two months ago! Stay strong, and don't worry too much yet. It could just be your hormones going back to normal from your last pregnancy, etc. I pray that you hear the results you hope for tomorrow!

@laruen, i'm kinda scared that i might be pregnant. I have two kids already and they are 20 month old, and 9 month old. I dont know how to take care of three little kids.. My parents are in North Carolina and they wont be able to help me. Thought of three little kids running around the house, they will drive me up the wall.. lol... if i am pregnant, i will be bless to have another child, but not this close.. i will keep u updated..

After the pregnancy test came back positive, they did an ultrasound to see where the IUD was, and to see if they could the little bean. They were unable to see any thing as far as the baby is concerned, so we think I'm only about 4 weeks along. The IUD was perfectly in place. So, they decided to immediately remove the IUD (didn't hurt, don't worry!). There is a slight chance of a miscarriage when they remove the IUD, but if they don't remove it, you run the risk of miscarriage later on, as well as further complications. So, we'll see what happens! Best of luck to you, Eelaeng! It was a pretty emotional experience for me, lots of crying in a doctor's office, which has never happened in my life. By the time I got home I felt better, and I'm hoping things go smoothly. Keep us posted on how your visit goes tomorrow!

@LARUEN, did they take ur IUD out? I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to get mine out. I think im pregnant to, but i just have to wait and see what the doctor tell me.

So, i just got back from the OB/Gyn, and I'm pregnant. The IUD was perfectly in place, so everyone was in shock. Going in for more blood work soon. I guess I'm just one of those people. 99.9% effective... that makes me 1/1000, right? Go figure! Oh well, maybe its divine intervention.

hey guys, i have Paragard too and i miss my period in september and i took at least 5 pregnancy test and see if i was pregnant or not. It said negative so i started my period in october. And then i started spotting on halloween night and i started my period on November 1st and i'm still bleeding and its december 6. I'm going to the doctor to get my iud remove tomorrow.. The paragard made me have mood swing, cramps, discharge, heavy bleeding, spotting, etc....

So did you end up pregnant?? I'm freaking out because I was regular the first few months with Paragard, but only spotted for half a day when I was supposed to get my last period. Basically, I'm now almost 3 weeks late. I don't feel pregnant, other than craving lots of foods (which doesn't tell my anything), but I'm concerned that I'm this late. I've never been this late, other than when I was pregnant with my son, who is now 8 months old. Hope all fares well. Thanks!

the first couple of months with paragard my periods were fine now they are so outta wack and long with it. guess it is due to stress.

I had my paragard for 5 years and ended up getting pregnant this passed January. They can't find it and I never noticed it coming out. I have to go for a full body scan after I deliver our son in October. I never missed or was late up until February when we found out I was pregnant. Even if its still in and you know that, it is possible to get pregnant or even an ectopic pregnancy. I would call your doctor and have them check.

Ok, yeah its weird how our periods are getting messed up seeing that we have a non hormonal birth control in. I need to go to my Gyno soon.

They told me when I got it put in that they had never seen anyone get pregnant with one and talked me into it. Then when I show up pregnant down the road they were like oh this happens sometimes..I was like what the heck?! But they took it out (which really hurt!) ..the baby was fine and in the uterus (can be in the tubes with the iud) and that resulted in the birth of my 4th child Maeson :) he's 2 and perfectly healthy. I have my tubes tied now! But definitely get things checked out! And good luck!

Do you have the Mirena or the Copper IUD ? Because I've heard the Mirena messes up with your period since its hormonal.

Ive had mine for 3 years and the past few months my period has been very weird. One month I got my period 4 days late and another month I got it like 5 days early. I get a lot of mild cramps when I pick heavy stuff up or when I clean or do anything strenuous! Anybody else having this issue?

You can have your doctor cut the string shorter. Losing 90lbs in 15 months will change your body so significantly!! That could be it. I wouldn't worry too much. If you continue to miss your period or are always late then I would talk to your doctor. What kind of vitamins are you taking, or what things are you taking to lose that weight healthily?

well i have stress but ive never has so much stress to mess up my body. Ive been working out for the last 2 months but only fast walking for 30 minutes a day not like a super hardcore workout, and ive lost about 90 lbs since the birtth of my son almost 15 months ago but like i said ive never missed a period on my paragard until now and i can still feel the strings so im am so confused.

It is still possible to get pregnant with the IUD. I have had my IUD paragard for about 18 months and I am not usually late but because of the lack of hormones associated with the paragard mine lingers longer than wanted (not that they are wanted at all, haha). But there are many reasons why you could be late this month versus all the previous. Is there any extra stress in your life, or is your diet different, did you start working out?? There are numerous things Hope this helps.
