I have a question that will probably be TMI for some people, but hopefully someone can help. I am now 5 months pregnant with twins and am now too big to see to be able to shave "down there". Did/does anyone else have this problem and what did you do about it?

haha omg i'm 9 months preg, i feel your pain :) this is what i did (after blindly going at it with a normal razor, there by giving myself hundreds of ingrown hairs...i don't recommend that...)
my hubby has an electric razor that he uses to shave his head (i never told him i used it lol) you know, one of the big ones with attachments that they use in salons. so i got a mirror and was able to take off most of the "bulk" hair. i basically gave myself a buzz cut LOL
good luck!

when i was pregnant, i got to about 7 months and had that problem, there isnt much u can do really, my partner tired to help but he was nervous about cutting me so he wouldnt carry on! have you tried using a mirror. when you are in labour you dont really care what down there looks like anyway! and also they shave you at the hospital if its too hairy. i hope i have helped a bit :)

I know everyone says "let your hubby help you" but mine DIDN'T. He wouldn't. He thought it was weird so I got Nair Bikini Cream and used it all over now there. It worked. I mean, waxing is an option but OUCH! Shaving is always nicer but it's hard. And I totally understand about it not being a big deal to the doc but it is to you. I feel for ya.

I think every woman goes through it... my one friend said she put a mirror on the floor to squat over but personally I just found it easier to do it by feel. After all, it's the smooth feeling you're going for, right? I had the cleanest shave throughout my whole preg and labor!

Sometimes you just have to let it go. The OB-GYN understands. Or your partner could help.....

My husband would help me. I asked him and he offered to help me. He had no problem with it at all.

I had the same problem, I had my husband help me, or used a mirror when he wasn't around to help me

I did have that problem and still do post-pregnancy. I sit on the side of the bathtub and have to just basically do it by feel or you can try doing it in front of a mirror.

Do you think it would be too awkward to ask hubby to help me? Im not sure he would like someone else near there even a professional waxer

If hubby wants it clean, he's either gotta help or gotta let you go get it done by someone else. Otherwise tell him he'll have to deal with it!!

Yeah, I just stopped shaving. Just go in front of the mirror and do it or get your man to, or a girlfriend you trust. Dont use the nair shit its toxic for your baby and you.

My husband was more than willing to help me. He even shaved my legs around 7 months because I have severe adema in my feet and standing for too long was so painful. Just ask, you might be surprised when he says yes.

My fiance helped me shave down there. He had no problem doing it since he knew that I could not even see what I was doing.

I ahd twins and was huge at 5 months so when you have multples this is problem longer than when you have a singleton... You have to decide if you're comfortable with someone else in that area for that long of time.... I was alone when Iwas pregnant and to embarassed to go somewhere to get waxed or shaved so I did the best I could and had to grin and bare it for the rest.. it sucks.. but if you do have someone there than ask your man for help, it can be uncomfortable and embarassing but when he is done helping you, you will feel much cleaner and relaxed.

I had that problem too, after always taking my time to ensure i was neat and tidy it was a nightmare not being able to see over my tummy.

I sat on the edge of the bath beside the sink (with warm water in it for cleaning the razor of hair) and perched a small mirror on the edge of the bath infront of me, it was like as people say 'going in blind' but not really because you can see what you have done in the mirror and it means you can keep straight lines too, looking in the mirror was far easier than peering round the side of my bump.

I sat on the toliet facing the back of the toliet and put a little mirror there and used clippers to trim the area. I looked silly but felt much better!!

I wasn't as concerned about my bikini area, but I did do it the best I could. My real vanity was shaving my legs teh day I went into labour I took a shower and shaved them real good! My boyfriend thought I was nuts but I didn't like the idea of having the docs touching hairy legs. Though I am sure they have felt worse :)

to be totally honest with you while i was preggo i just shaved the whole thing, it was easier than trying to keep a strip or whatever straight and neat. I also let my husband help me when i got super huge.

While I was pregnant I had the same problem, my suggestion is to be extremely careful and try using a mirror.

I just had my baby 6 weeks ago and I had the same problem. My husband shaved EVERYTHING including my legs once before he deployed. I trust him with my life, but I have to admit I was scared with how gentle he was trying to be. So I started using a mirror and electric trimmers, although it was never really smooth at least it didnt feel as weird as it would have if i didnt shave at all.

If you have a partner have them help. Especially if you are "in the mood" now that you are in the 2nd tri. Your partner probably prefers it clean there as well so have them help.

towards the end of my pregnancy, i could only see the right side lol because i'm left handed and i guess it was just easier to see the opposite side a little more than the other..i did the best that i could and knowingly missed some spots so i used a mirror to help me. ITS SO HARD THOUGH good luck!

I tempted to trim my stuff at 7 months and that wore me out, none the less trying to shave my legs. (I'm 5'11..all legs)

So I squated down with a mirror and used hubby's clippers he uses to shave his head. They worked really well and I wasn't worn out by the time I got done!!

YES! \its quite normal. Some women i know have stopped bothering till they can see it again, or gone for a wax at a salon. Personally i got my fella to do it (not in a sexual way but hes going to see far more embarrasing things in the labour room!!!)

When i was pregnant i just used hair remover cream. I found that a lot easier to do. Just lather it on in the area you want your hair gone and jump in the shower and its all gone! Good luck and all the best with twins :)

wow my hubby would never help me out at all when it came to shaving while pregnant. I did try shaving then I used the cream stuff and after about a few weeks of it I gave up there was no point anyway. I mean its not like your are going to see the doctor again. Well I didn't had a different one for both babies

Asked my husband to help, usually that didn't work. I used a mirror to. The last thing you want is to feel "un-sexy" when your prego. You can buy a cheap grooming electric razor and that makes it so much easier and you don't have to worry about cutting yourself. Good luck painting toenails is a pain in the butt too! :)
