My response to the sore nipples, get the lanolin cream for your nipples put it on as directed it works.

My son did this at first - try to keep her awake longer to eat more. You could try a pacifier while she drifts off to sleep - it may help. I just kept feeding till he went limp and had a backup pacifier in caase. Now he's fine with drifting off to sleep without being on the breast.

The nipple soreness does go away after awhile - but at one month, make sure the latch is right - talk to a specialist. and ensure that you don't have thrush or anything.

If you have a baby bouncer or swing pop her in that and bring her with you to each room your cleaning so she can see you and take her outside in it to watch you hang out the washing or garden. If that doesn't work use a baby carrier, little babies love being close to mum and seeing the world from your view point.
For sore nipples hand express some milk and let it dry on the nipple. Make sure she is latching on correctly, it may be worth having a visit to your health nurse or a lactation consultant and getting them to check your technique.

A baby carrier or sling might help, that way your little one can still be close to you, and you will have your arms free to fold some laundry or do some basic housecleaning or hobbies or what-have-you (you just can't cook over a hot stove with them)



As to the soreness, make sure she has a good latch, it's a good idea to get some feedback from a lactation consultant. A really good resource for b/f is http://www.drjacknewman.com/video-clips.... . If you're really, really sore, you might want to think about alternating some feedings with a bottle of breast milk that you pump, to give yourself a chance to heal....Manual pumps are relatively inexpensive, especially compared to the cost of formula :) If you do decide to give your breasts a chance to heal, just be sure to keep pumping to keep your supply up :) Yes, they say the baby might get "nipple confusion" but personally, I don't believe in that--Babies are very smart, and I think it is more likely to be a "nipple preference" :)



Also, keep your chin up :) The first month is probably the hardest of all, and it DEFINITELY does get better!

my son did that and to this day (he is 6 now) he still needs more attention than most kids...so she may not grow out of this.

I had this problem with my now 4 month old. She just needs a little more attention. Imagine going through nights like that where I would lay down and 5 minutes later she would cry and I would get up. Maybe she needs to see you so you can lay her down in a bouncer (which my daughter loved) or a swing and have you be in her sight. Some kids have separation anxiety. Hope that helps.

Yeah she's asleep.. yes I burp her after every feeding and I talk to her all the time and hold and play with her so she is gettin enough attention..
