I am really frustrated and upset because my 8 week old starts screaming around 8 o'clock and doesn't calm down until about 2 in the morning and that is when she is so exhausted she just falls asleep. She gets so upset that she even tends to refuse the bottle, my pediatrician says that the has a little bit of colic but i just need help to sooth her and i feel like i have tried every thing. I just feel like its not good for her to be that upset for that long of a period of time!!
Does anyone have any advice for me?

The 5 S's Swaddle, side, swing, suck, shush. My daughter was a screamer as well. She refused a binki so I offered her my finger. I would then lay her on her side on my lap all swaddled up, rock my legs back and forth (she didn't like regular swings that went front to back), I then bent over and right into her ear would lightly shush her. The swaddle worked for a bit. She liked having her arms free so I bought sleeping sacks.

I had a hard time with my third child. I tried colic ease which is gripe water. I tried different formulas. The only way she would sleep is to put her in her swing. She basically slept in her swing the first 3 months of her life. Then i started giving her ceral and she started sleeping more for me. The first 3 months were a blur because I didn't sleep much and I had the two older ones to take care and went back to work full time after six weeks. I know it can be exhausting but hang in there. I would also sing to her a lot to calm her down which helped sometimes too. Good Luck!

gripe water helped my little one vibration. He now has O.T. to work with him so he can control himself. he likes pressure. I had to hold him all night when he was younger i would fall asleep with him in my arms. I found that having him in bed with me helped. When he turned 2 i got this pillow made for pregnant women it has two half circles at each end its great he cuddles right agaisnt it like if mommy was there. For awhile i had to rock him to sleep then i found sleepy music helps.
i hope you find what you need.

Sounds like colic, which usually passes after 3 months or so. Try a baby carrier, it did wonders for my friend's baby.

My daughter went thru the same thing. I didn't like 8 o'clock to come around. But I started giving her 2oz. Of warm chamomille tea wit very little sweetener. Then burping her n laying her on her tummy on my lap n rubbing her back. They also sell gas drops for infants they also work well. ;)

This may sound silly, but when my son had colic, he (literally) immediately stopped crying the minute that I took him outside. Every evening when "the time" came around, I'd wrap him in a blanket & rock him until he fell asleep (which didnt take long, surprisingly). I know this is weather permitting & obviously wont work for everyone....just saying that it worked for me! On a side note, I'm hoping that you don't live alone so that you don't have to go through this every night by yourself.....it is very frustrating & can definitely take a toll on you!

My brother had bad colic. I asked my mom what she did and here it is. First she changed the nipples on his bottles. To playtex nursers, medium flow, he was guzzling his formula. She then tried changing his formula incase something in there was upsetting his tummy. After that it settled down a bit but he had some colic. So she put him on rice cereal. I did the same with my son because he ate so much. Same with my brother. They some times get so hungry that they eat to fast so they get tummy pains. She said once he started really runny rice cereal it all went away. I know so many doctors say no to it so soon but every baby is different. If I didn't start it with my son at 3 months old I would have gotten no sleep because he was waking up every two hours to eat. She may just have to much air from drinking out of her bottle that builds up faster. My mom just added to me to sit her up when she eats. Pretty much straight up and down. I didn't want to give you my advice because I never went through that, but then I remembered that my brother had colic and asked the professional. I call her that because between me and my brother my mom went through it all. Even seizures with me as a baby. I hope it helps and if you need any more advice just ask and I will forward it to my professional answer women. lol Good Luck

you could put a couple of drops of apple cider vinegar in her bottle, this is a natural means of soothing the stomach. You can also take a capful of apple cider vinegar, warm it and then rub it on babies belly. There are several colic holds which I am sure you have already tried, but I am going to link a pictorial website for you just in case. http://www.webmd.com/parenting/baby/cryi...

Oh, I'm so sorry, colic blows. It won't hurt her, just you, to hear her scream that much.
For me, nothing ever worked twice- I would figure something out one night and wouldn't ever work again (punk kids). I did a lot of lower back massage while cuddling their faces into my neck, to help relieve any gas and tummy trouble, baby massage, warm baths, swaddling and unswaddling, rocking, even walks (late at night if you live in a safe area), vaccuming (they liked the sound) or leaving a fan or noise machine on, carrying them around in a sling or baby bjorn type carrier (because putting them down so upset was hard on me, but I needed to eat and pee and walk around and use my arms and couldn't just rock them for hours on end) ..... It's so tough. The do outgrow it eventually.
