My son, Jarrett, did the same thing when we first tried at 2 1/2.  From my experience, when your daughter is ready it will almost happen overnight.  At about 20 months we started again and he picked it up immediately.  He is now day and night trained and there were no fights.  If you want ideas on how to teach the steps, I read Pottywise and it gave really specific instructions for potty training.  Hope this helps, hang in there.

I had a potty chair and I kept it in the living room. That way she didn't have to stop watching cartoons, or go to far from her toys or whatever she is doing to go pee. I also sat her on it every 20-30min, even if she said she didn't need to go. We also used to sticker chart, and she got to pick out her own new panties as well.

i have a son who is also 2 yrs old, he knows how to sit on the potty, he has done a few wee's in there i found if i asked him did he need to go to the potty or do a wee he would always say no, i was told to try put them in underwear & if you can take them to the potty every hour & get them to sit there, also try taking her into the toilet when you have to go & explain why you are having to go there, take her potty & get her to sit on hers while you are as well, that might help.

Reward systemss are definatley a great way to go. Even something as simple as a sticker chart. Let her pick the stickers when you buy them. Be prepared for some good old 2 yr old bargaining and guilt trips though. And if reward a reward system doesn't work, just be patient. Each child does it at their own pace. Other things you could try is sitting on the toilet instead my son refused to use a potty. It could also be she doesn't like the sound so just put some toilet paper down the bottom of the potty/toilet. It's all trial and error and a lot of patience

hey hon!! i know what ur going through im tryin to potty train my son. My sister has a little girl a week younger than my youngest n what she did was she got her the doll she wanted so bad but she couldnt have her doll till she went on the potty all the time n it worked!!!! so u could try that or try another toy that she really wants. Good Luck!!!!!
