Has anyone started potty training or done with potty training? If so, what are/did you do? What struggles did you face? How did you handle them?

I started trying to get my oldest potty trained when she was around 1 1/2. She kinda sorta got it but didnt really seem all that interested. I was really wanting to get her potty trained by the time i had my 2nd(back in feb). I had finally given up around OCT when she turned 2. i believe it was around DEC when all the sudden one night when getting her bath ready she turned to me and said "i gotta pee mommy". i didnt figure she would actually go but to my surprise SHE DID!!! i of course made a big deal out of it. ever since she's done great. i started by giving her 1 m&m when she would go. then when she got used to going regularly we switched to stickers. i guess for her i just had to wait for her to decide she was ready

How old? I potty trained my oldest when he was 3 years and 1 month last May between the time his school let out and his summer play days started. We did potty boot camp and in 3 days he was going in the potty. Since it was summer we went cold turkey on the diaper except at naptime and bedtime. Every day he ran around naked or either with just a t-shirt. Every so often I took him to the potty and when he tinkled on the floor we kept talking about how you "tinkle in the potty". Where do you tinkle? In the potty. He went in the potty that night but not again until 3 days later. We didn't go anywhere that week and kept at it. It was torture but you can't give in. I gave him Sprite but that didn't really work for us. It was more like training a puppy to go outside, just keep at it and keep stressing that you "tinkle in the potty". It was our mantra for a long time. But going # 2 took us until October to master. All in all I think he was going without a diaper (even during naps and at night) after 3 weeks or so. Good luck!
