Pregnant w/ twins and cervix shortening and bag of waters funneling at 26wks! Anyone had this happe

I am now on very strict bedrest. I go back in on Monday to get another ultrasound on my cervix and will discuss the results with my doc a few hours later. On Thursday, when they found out I was shortening and there was a funnel with a bag of waters I was pretty much sent straight to the hospital. I started having some contractions which they stopped and they gave me the steriod injections for the babies lungs just in case we don't make it. I am completely overwhelmed right now with the thought of the babies not making it even to 28 weeks. Has anyone ever had this happen before? And what was the outcome?

I have never been pregnant with twins or had anything like this happen to me, but I am praying that things turn out in you and your babies' favor! Good luck!

Yes, I had it at 31 weeks in Europe. In Germany they can do a late term cervical cerclage, and that was what I had. It is frightening and risky but after that I carried my little one four more weeks. Sidelines (you can google it) can be a great support during bedrest. Get as much rest and you can and keep your feet up. This may sound silly but talk to your baby , tell your little one that he or she needs to stay in there a little longer.

no, sorry. I put myself on bedrest about that time with my twins to keep my cervix thick. I will say bedrest is pretty effective. it keeps the weight off of it. it can't make it thick again, but maybe it'll stay how it is and not get thinner. Every day you can safely keep them inside helps. :) i'm sure your doctor is telling you this too. Hang in there, take every day, every hour at a time.
