My daughter is 8 months and a half. The doctor wants her to drink 24-36 ounces of milk a day. My daughter is only drinking 4 ounces in the morning and maybe at night. I give her 2-3 ounces in the cereal and 8 ounces in the rice/oatmeal in the mornings. Please, can anyone give me some advice on how I can get her to drink her milk.

I will because she loves the fruit puree so she would love yogurt and apple sauce

Oh wow ok great well I give her formula but she loves having her cereal and oatmeal every day with her milk so I will increase the intake of those and also give her some yogurt. Thanks everyone.

do u give her actual milk or formula? if u give her formula, try giving her formula with rice in it whenever she wont just drink the formula. since she is drinking it with rice in it anyway. i started giving my son yogurt at 6 months.

She eats rice crispy everyday with like 3 ounces of milk but is her stomach ready for cheese and yogurt at this age?

I have to agree with Jeneva try feeding her more milk products like cheese, yogurt. Try simple cereals that get soft easily like rice crispy and put milk on it and see if she likes that. I also used goats milk for awhile because my daughter perfered the flavor...till my MIL screwed it all up ugh (long story)

My daughter is going into her 9 months in mid Aug. and she isn't drinking any juice and rarely drinks water only when she eats solids or is out for a long time.

How old is she? My daughter only started drinking milk around 2 yrs old. She just didn't like it. But she ate a ton of whole milk yogurt (sometimes 16 or more oz a day) and cheese and sometimes I would make smoothies with whole milk. And we did not offer juice ever, just water. Her pediatrician was fine with that.

However, if you only offer milk she will eventually drink it. I just didn't see the need if she got what she needed from other places and the pedi was fine with it.

How old is your daughter? do you give her other things to drink? like juice or water? If so I would try to cut those out and not give her a choice. My oldest daughter refuses to drink milk at all. She was NEVER a milk drinker but when she couldnt talk I didnt give her a choice. I know it sounds mean but if they get thirsty enough they will drink it when there isnt another choice.
