my 5 month old boy randomly gets congested.. like you can hear congestion in his chest and he gets a lot more boogies in the nose.. but no fever and he seems fine. what could cause this and does that mean he is getting sick? I have to take him EVERYWHERE with me.. His daddy is in the military and hardly home to watch him so I can go run errands without him.

At 5 months my daughter started that too. She was teething. I just used the suction from the hospital, little nosies saline drops, baby vicks, and a humidifier. That took about a week and half. Now my daughter is 14 months old and is really congested and I believe its allergies. They have said that this years poolen count is quite high. I'd talk to your dr about what you can do. Hope your little one starts to feel better.

My daughter gets that way all the time.. After numerous attempts to taking her to the doctor. They finally said to put a humifier in the room. She started her congestions at 3 months old and now she is 9 months old. I have ran the humidifer in her room ever since she was almost 4 months old and she has not had any problems since then. It works for my daughter. You could try it for your son, if it doesn't work then I would suggest taking him to the doctor

it sounds like he has allergies to me. I would talk to your doctor about putting him on an allergie medication. My daughter was on them when she was little and they have a powder you just put in their bottle it helps alot. if you dont control the congestion it can turn into croup my daughter is 3yrs and even now if she gets just the littlest runny nose then that night she will have full blown croup. They said it was from her allergies and we are still fighting it.
