My 21 mon old has had a rash on her cheeks, chin, lips, and 1 butt cheek for about a week now. I took her to the doc but she was unsure what it was and precribed a steriod type cream for her call tri(something) and said if in 2 weeks it doesnt go away then come back and well send her to a specialest. The rash is red and bumpy and tends to get worse as the day goes on and is fades alot by morning and then it starts right up again getting brighter and brighter and by bath time before bed its at its worse. Has anyone else experanced this before? Thanks

I think it maybe viral cause she now has a nose that just wont stop running and shes sneezing like crazy. I had some nystatin left over from another time she had a rash and it didnt help with the rash. Thanks so much for the advice, im gonna call her doc on monday and let her know the new symptoms and see what she thinks.

I just went through this with my 10 month old, His rash was a yeast (thrush) infection and we were given a ointment to ably 4 times a day. It's called Nystatin ointment.

i did as a child.. morning and night were always worse.. but it was always viral..usually meant i was in for a nasty cold.. my mom gave me benydryll for the hives which did work. .then the rest of symptoms i would have to just put up with like a regular cold, my eldest son who is 3 seems to have this sometimes as well.. not itchy just looks worse than it is

I have just been through this and my 6month old face was raw with dribble rash... first of all absolutely no soap products (get a soap free wash) second make sure the skin doesn't get too wet with slobber, use a moisturiser with no fragrance etc products I use dermaveen - then use Dermaid its a cream with a vaseline like feel it has worked wonders! and in 2 days is nearly cleared up

It sounds like an allergy. What kind of laundry detergent do you use? Soaps? Carpet shampoo or household cleaners you might use on highchair or booster seat? It might even be a food allergy. Try changing one thing at a time and wait a few days each to see if the rash gets any better.
