After reading your post I did some online research. There is NO FORMAL RECALL. Some parents are requesting it but the issues these parents are complaining about are the issues my son has when he wears HUGGIES brand diapers, or frankly any brand other then Pampers.

I requested a sample from pampers (which contained 4 diapers) prior to the release and have used them since their release with no issues.

Every childs skin is different. Yes there may be a chemical in there certain babies cant use. But why should MY child suffer diaper rashes because someone else requested a recall because their baby got a rash from that diaper?? Because that is what will happen! They recall these I will have to use a different brand and MY baby will have rashes as a result.

If you dont like them simply dont buy them!

I think the reason many moms were surprised is because the rash started immediately and resulted in huge open sores. My daughter didn't get the rash, but I switched brands. She's fine with any diaper. I think the main issue is that instead of listening to parents and investigating the issue themselves Pampers ignored the complaints and acted like moms don't know what they're doing (by saying they aren't changing babies enough, it's just diaper rash, it's not diaper related, etc, etc). Many moms didn't think it was the diaper at first because Pampers placed the new diaper in the same packaging without any indication that there was a new product in there. I think Pampers could've done a lot better damage control on this and it never would've gotten to this point.

I agree its just your childs skin, my daughter does great with pampers, though we havent tried the "dry max" but she got a red belly when I tried a store brand :)

I'll stick to pampers :)

I also agree with what Sharon said in other post on this topic, I think some not all, but some moms think "dry max" and dont change their baby often enough.

Just use cloth :) It definitely takes the guess work out of which one your child will be allergic to.

my 5 weeks old has used pampers from day one; she's perfectly fine. i do change her very often, but her drymax diapers hold a whole bunch of fliuds, and she doesn't complain that she's uncomfortable in them when we're out and i can't change her for a while....
according to Pampers, the rumor of a recall due to chemical burns is untrue. i can't imagine Pampers having that much of a problem...they'd go bankrupt...
thanks for keeping us posted!

Love the link candis. i am still using pampers dry max and i still love them!!! They work amazing and no rashes!! for anyone who has had leaks try going up a size. i know that might sound crazy since there are wight guidelines right on the box but that is exactly what they are just guidelines. i have had it happen to me with every brand of diaper and all i had to do was go up a size and no more leaks!! I personally have to use night time diapers on my son at night. I am not sure what is going on with the rash situation but i have been using these diaper since before they even were being sold in stores and no problems what so ever however my child did receive rashes from other brands of diapers. I think parents are too quick to blame others these days for everything that goes on with there children. And that is not to say that any parents are wrong to say that there child should not use a certain brand of diapers of course as a parent you want to protect your children i just don't think it is the companies fault i think it depends solely on the child.

i have noticed it too but only on the ones with a blueish tinge to them and they aren't as soft as the regular ones and they also seem to be a bit smaller than the regular ones of the same size.

I noticed a rash on both of my boys and had even taken them to the doctor because it wouldn't go away. The only thing that made the rash go away was switching the diapers. We don't use pampers dry max anymore and both boys' rashes have cleared up......

When my son was born he was able to wear them at first but once he needed stage 2 he could not wear them anymore because it gave him bad rash. They have some kind of powdery perfume in them, I could smell it on the cruisers, so now when I buy diapers I smell them to make sure they don't have a scent.

There is no recall...this is just someone who thinks there should be one. Try huggies. My son can't use huggies but my daughter can't use pampers so every child's skin is different.
Hope her rash isn't as bad as some of the kids out there.

My daughter has very sensitive skin and has had no problems with the Dry Max. We first tried the Baby Dry and now use the Swaddlers again and she had a diaper rash one day, but nothing since, and it was before the complaints were out all over so I never would have attributed the rash to the diaper. Obviously it wasn't. So I wouldn't take what happened to others and automatically think it is the diaper, some children are prone to diaper rashes, yes of course try something else it could be the problem! After all, Huggies and Luvs have been in business for years because they work for SOME babies. Pampers just happen to work best for my child. It is normally a good idea to stock up on things while you are pregnant but you never know what will work for your child, so if you find out she can't use Pampers and you have 5 cases in her closet...I know my mom bought me 2 packs of Huggies I couldn't use until she was older and only if I knew she had already pooped (her first bath was not a planned occasion!) I hope there is no recall because my daughter has just started sleeping through the night and these diapers work great! For US.

i know each diaper and what not can have different effects on each child - i can not use Huggies at all! nothing - not diapers, whipes, bath washes etc.... my oldest breaks out in blisters, rash etc.... i just called the hotline when that happened and they were nice enough to acutlly send me $150 in pampers coupons to replace their product!

i knew they would. haha. i tried them on my daughter, she has never gotten diaper rash from pampers but they wouldn't hold for any amount of pee or poop. like, as soon as she pooped you had to rush to the changing table before it leaked out and she wouldn't even be in a diaper for an hour and have to be changed because her pee leaked through and soaked her shirts. and this was no astronomical amount of pee either..not even..a piddle.. I stick with Luvs. They're really crunchy..but man are they obsorbant!

My friend used the pampers baby dry dry max diapers and her daughter got a bad rash as did mine when I tried them, but when I went to the swaddlers dry max my daughter was fine. My daughter can only use pampers. The product still is not recalled here yet, but I think part of the problem is in the mix. If you pay attention to the baby dry diapers they have a sweet smell to them when they pee. That fregrancy in the diaper was what gave my daughter that horrible reaction. Plus each child reacts differently about things. So I just think its a mix of things not every case is pampers fault and not every case is the costumers fault either.

My son has had a reaction to the dry max diapers. My pediatrician had to prescribe "Greer's Goo" to help treat the rash, which she said looks like it has a little staff in it... anytime he had a bowel movement with the Pamper on, he got a rash and it was very painful for him. I have had to start using Huggies with the "Goo", and it is not so painful anymore.
For all the mom's whose baby had a reaction, I feel your pain. It is awful to see your baby in such discomfort.

My baby is due in August, and like all new moms i've already started to stock up on the necessities. I have quite the supply of diapers waiting all of them are Pampers. Swaddlers, Cruisers and Dry Max. Is there a website I can do .. do they have special product numbers or something to let us know whats been recalled so we can exchange? This is ridiculous, these are products for very small children can't these people get it the hell together?!

Hi Nancy- Has you Pediatrician or Doctor ever suggested to use cloth diapers? What about Target brand, personally I can't use them, but I know others who have tried them and love them. I know it may dip a little bit further into the pocket book, but they may be worth a shot to get rid of that diaper rash. If possible too, try leaving her bum without a diaper as long as you can. I have heard that sometimes will help. My aunt also gave me a home remedy too. I haven't tried it, but she swares by it. Her and her girlfriend went camping with their husbands and kids years ago. Well, the baby had diaper rash very bad and this was way out from any civilization anywhere. My aunt told her that she heard to use apple cider vinger on it and to set his bum into a pot of it that has been warmed up. She swears up and down it cleared it up...hey...it's worth a shot. If you try it, let me know how it works out for you. Hope I could help.

NANCY: It may be the wipes and not the diapers. I can only use pampers wipes with my kids because they would break out very bad. (The girls would get the bleeding at their parts)
We had bought the parents choice wipes before because the pampers were sold out and we knew the huggies broke them out and they broke the girls out too. I'd try different wipes.

My daughters could not use Huggies diapers but especially wipes! Actually all 3 of my kids couldn't use the Huggies wipes. Something would make all of them break-out. I haven't started using the new dry max yet because we have stock piled supplies of diapers but will look out for it.
I think it may be though parents just trying to get something for nothing.

Nancy, your daughter may be allergic to the parents choice, there are other store brands out there you can try that are as cheap as the parents choice. But Pampers does not make the parents choice diapers so the pampers chemicals would have no effect on your daughters rash. I would recommend changing diapers just due to the fact my son is allergic to all brand except pampers. I am a low income single mom but unfortunantly I have no option but to buy pampers if I dont want to fight a rash

It sorta seems like people are getting diaper rashes and connecting it because of the change in diaper technology. Every child reacts differently, but diaper rashes are pretty common too. My daughter has been using pampers since she was born. She has had no problem with the changes.

omg could it possibly affect the parents choice diapers. we are a low income family so that is all i can afford to buy and i have been fight a rash on my daughters butt cheeks for over a year!! her doctor says its something different everytime but gives her the SAME meds and we even took her to a dermatologist who took one look and said"yep, that's a yeast infection" wrote a prescription and left the room and that meds only helped on her front. She is always scratching and sometimes makes it bleed. i have noticed because we are trying to potty train that when she doesn't wear a diaper for a few days it seems to not bother her as bad. its a dry and flaky bright red rash. any clues??

I have used pampers since my daughter was born, she is now 16 months old. We continued to buy they Dry Max diapers when they were released, but when I finished our first box I switched to huggies. The dry max didn't leave a rash on my daughter but they are a bad quality diaper. They leak! Huggies so far have been just as good as the Pampers were before. I'm not saying they should recall them but they should at least change it back to the way it used to be. If it's not broke, why fix it?
