Hello Everyone,

My son recently just turn !yrs old and up until then road trips were easy. I just packed him bottles and his formula, also made sure there was water in the car so I can make him a bottle when needed to. Now this holiday season we are going to take a road trip to visit with my family and my in-laws and don't know what kinds of food to pack so in case he gets hungry on the trip. My son eats just about everything you put in front of him. I forgot to mention my son has 8 teeth. What are good road trip foods/treats for a 1yr old?

yeah crackers are a good one. we went half ways across canada in 3 days with our girl who was 15 months at the time and i found one of the best snack foods was the goldfish, animal crackers, and those ritz sandwiches the cheese ones. i stayed away from yogurts, cheese and milk while we were driving because when we had left i gave her some milk and cheese to snack on and within an hour she had puked all over herself, her carseat, her blanket and bears. it was horrible it smelt so bad and i couldnt get the sour milk smell out of the van for a while. all her stuff i had to put into a bag and wash it into the bathtub in the hotel we stopped at for the night...and it still smelt....lol i donno maybe your baby has a stronger stomach than mine but it wasnt nice. i stayed away from anything dairy for the rest of the trip so it wouldnt upset her stomach. the highway was really hilly too so i donno if its like that where your too or not. anyways another thing i liked was bananas she loves them and she snacked on them quite a bit. oh and cheesies...every kid loves cheesies....lol. those were good snacks to tie her over until we stopped somewhere and grabed a bite to eat.

Small crackers or cookies are always good (such a goldfish) to tide him over between stops. If you go down the cookie cracker aisle in the grocery store you will find a lot of single serving packets and I personally find those easier then the boxes with one big bag, that way I can open one at a time and not worry about the whole box spilling or going stale. Plus that way I can also switch the snacks up and not have a million different bags of snacks open and worrying about going stale. Soft cereal bars (ex. Nutrigrain bars or the toddler versions found in the baby section)
If someone is going to be sitting with him you can have a small cooler and pack sliced fruit (if you are going to have fruit that turns brown you can coat them in orange juice if your son is on citrus already), cheese slices or sticks, yogurt tubes (so you dont need to worry about spoons and dishes),
Juice boxes and bottles of water to fill his cup or drink right out of.
