I have always said I'd never be able to be a stay at home mom, but now that my daughter is actually here I can't imagine leaving her. I love my job and I love taking classes at a local college and I am very fortunate that my daughter can stay with my sister, but I am literally feeling sick at the thought of leaving her. Any suggestions on how to be ok? I can't just not go back!

Try easing yourself into it... I found that it got easier over time so I started with small amounts of time apart and weaned myself up to a few days a week

It's hard at first but gets easier. You just have to get out and do it and then a routine will form and it will be a piece of cake. Good luck!

Funny how we have this strong bond to our children huh? I know what you are going through, I went through it once. I had to go back to work when my daughter was 6 weeks old. I ended up choosing a daycare center not far from our home. So everyday on my lunch break I went to visit her. Even if she was taking a nap, I just hung around and watched her for a while. The center kept a sheet on each baby every day of when they ate, were changed and took a nap. That was exciting to see each day & helpful as well. Each week got a little easier to leave her. Once she was old enough to get upset when I left I stopped going to see her. If your family member watches her then you will be able to call and check on her at certain times of the day which should be helpful for you. The hardest part of it all is leaving them...... But I promise it gets easier.

Keep in mind, I feel like because I started my daughter early it was easier on her. And as she became a toddler and was old enough to understand she was being dropped of she had her good days & her bad. But the teachers were very understand in this time of situation and would hurry us along as they distracted her.
