Skin issues with 3 month old?

My daughter's ear keeps getting red, swollen, and sensitive. The first time I took her to the pediatrician he said it was a skin infection. He had no idea what may have caused it. He instructed me to give her children's benadril, and to put hydrocortizone cream and neosporin on it. It went away quickly but it keeps coming back. I keep our house very clean, wash her sheets, etc. I don't know what might be causing it. I don't know if anybody else has experienced the same problem and come to a solution?

I have been using exederm bath soap, shampoo, and lotion. It is color free, paraben free, fragrance free, and SLS/SLES free. It is made specifically for babies who suffer from eczema or dermatitis. The bath soap I just mix one squirt into the water and I don't physically apply it to her skin so that it doesn't dry her out. I also use detergent that is fragrance and dye free. I would have used dreft but it has fragrance in it. I also use fragrance and dye free fabric softener.

My daughters skin is extremely sensitive. I have to use dye free, fragrance free, hypoallergenic everything. When you first change from what you are using, it can be a hassle but I know it really helped Alana. She no longer gets rashes. Also, i had to quit wearing perfume too because it really bothered her skin.

Does your daughter have food allergies?

Just wondering, do you use Johnson's Lavender baby lotion or soap? It REALLY irritated my son's skin when he was little and it also irritated my friend's daughter's skin as well as my cousin's son's skin. As soon as we discontinued it's use our children's skin all cleared up.

Get a second opinion. Doctors are notorious for misdiagnosing ear infection. She may also have some kind of blockage or ear drum problem.

What do you wash is clothes and linen with? Maybe the detergent is too harsh. There's a baby laundry soap called drift. You can also use Cheers frangrant and dye free laundry soap. Is it the bath soap? Soaps can really dry out and irritate skin. Find a soap free wash Pediderm is good for babies and Johnson's baby wash for sensative skin. My son had bad skin. I was told i washed him too much. Once a day is enough for a 3 month old if she isn't soiled.

you might wanna keep a close eye on her and try to catch her if she picks or scratches even the cleanest of moms children could still have bacteria under their nails scratching and contacting germs with a open laceration can cause contact dermatitis which is infection and inflamation of the skin

It sounds like my son's rash. My doctor told me it was exzama. He would get it all sorts of places on his body. we would put the same creams onto it and it went away. He got it a lot when he was young but as he's gotten older it lessened. He is now 7 and he never gets it any more! He has sensitive skin and that is why he got it.
