So my roomate has a very thin baby and mine is more on the chubbier side :)
She's already showing signs of crawling and shes 3 months younger...is my child developing slower or is the fact that shes chubbier putting her behind schedule? Im a lil worried ......Please Help!

All babies are different. My baby has been "chubbier" since birth. She gained weight rapidly (and height) but developed physically faster than her older cousin. She walked earlier, crawled, climbed, etc earlier. I wouldn't worry about it unless your doctor is worried about it. As long as your child is healthy then don't worry about her weight at this point. At 3 months your doctor would be able to tell you if your baby is too heavy (which I doubt!) and then you can take action from there if need be but I really think you have NOTHING to worry about.

my son is a BIG boy he was 21lbs at 6 months, hes tapered off a bit buthe still weighs 26lbs and 34 inches tall and he was fully walking by 11 months whereas my friends daughter is 16 months and super skinny and she still is only cruising. I dont think weight has much to do with what they do, every baby is different and every baby learns at a different pace when they are ready. My son is super active and advanced physically but doesnt talk at all, so each area is different. Don't compare your baby to another it only confuses you, also some babies NEVER crawl they go straight to walking

Developmental milestones have a huge variation in what is 'normal'. You only need to be concerned if your child is failing to meet a number of milestones on target, or if you have specific reason to be concerned - i.e. you think your baby needs a hearing or vision test.

Some babies never crawl. My six year old didn't commando crawl until 11 months, and didn't walk until 20 months. I took her to a paediatrician at around 19 months just to make sure she didn't have a hip condition, who said she had low muscle tone and hyperflexible joints but there was nothing to be concerned about.

She now runs with all the other kids at school and is well ahead of her peers in some subjects. All kids are different - trust your instincts a little rather than comparing your baby to others.

Absolutely not- weight has nothing to do with it. Perfect example is my son to his cousin- she was really quite chubby and he's a lightweight- but they walked at exactly the same time. All babies are different, dont worry!

i have non identical twin girls both completly different, amy is slightly built with dark hair and hazel eyes and katie is blonde blue eyes and broad and longer like me, she is doing things ahead of her smaller sister which goes to show its not size that effects baby development but jst the do everything when they are ready!

My daughter was extremely chubby, 9 lbs at birth and always in 97th percentile, but she was always advanced physically (but not verbally, she didn't talk til she was nearly 2). All kids go at their own pace!

all babies develop at their own pace! my son is in the 100% of his age and has developed just as fast if not faster than his buddies! the only thing he was slow on was rolling over but i think that was my fault! i didnt give him enough tummy time!

she only 6 months she maybe skipping crawling and going straight to walking if she is not mobile by 10 months then i would get worried for now i wouldnt worry just enjoy the little extra time u get with urs while the roommate has to chase theirs down for a hug or to cuddle she will be walking in no time but if u r really concerned about development talk to her dr they may not know everything but i always find it comforting that im the only one seeing a problem

i miss the days when mine stayed where i left them until i came back for them

All babies develop when they are ready - if her baby is crawling earlier she is just ready earlier. Yours will crawl in good time and you should just enjoy the time you have with her until she has you running around all day as she finds her feet. Unless she is seriously chubby I doubt her weight has much to do with the crawling thing. As always if you have serious concerns about their development talk to your doctor - but otherwise relax and enjoy her as she grows :)
