My daughter is almost 4 months old and she will not sleep flat on her back in her crib. For the first month she slept in her bassinette then started to slee in her crib with the breast feeding pillow. Now that she is starting to move around I will not put the pillow in the crib. She recently had a cold so I had her sleep in her car seat in the crib so she would be propped up. Now she is use to the car seat and sleeping in the be with me . I tried laying her flat in the crib but she wakes up right away. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I used the wedge things with my son, they are two triangles that are valcroed together in the middle and the baby sleeps between them. I think he felt more secure like someone was holding him. I could also put him on his side and he wouldn't roll.

thank you :) I will try these methods .. last night she would not sleep in the car seat either, she had to be laying on my chest. I think I have her a little too spoiled.

hunny... my daughter is 4 months too and i still putt the nursing pillow in ther with her to sleep. i throw a planket over it and tuck it around it and lay her on it. she wont sleep without it and she does just fine. i would just use the nursing pillow if thats what she wants.

My kids did well with a pillow under the matress and when they were extra fussy I would wrap them in a warm blanket and then rock them to sleep. They would be so cozy in there blanket that they would sleep really good. Good luck!!

the reason she likes the carseat is because it makes her feel secure. It hugs her tightly, like she is in your arms. Babies go through different sleep stages and when they transition from deep sleep back into light sleep, they tend to wake up. She is not waking up in her car seat because she feels secure. Another reason she might like the car seat is because she isnt flat. Does she have reflux? maybe you should place a phone book under her mattress. That way her head is elevated just like the car seat. Maybe to recreate the cozy feeling you could roll up some blankets and place one on each side of her so she feels like shes being held? If you choose to try this make sure that the blankets are no where near her face, as a safety precaution.

i would ask the peds doc, i had a friend that has a daughter that refused to sleep on her back, they would have to hold her on their chests on her stomach in order to get her to sleep and the doc told them it was ok to put her on her tummy, maybe that would help here? its worth asking i guess, good luck

You could try putting a teddy bear or something like that in there with her. She may need some kind of security type thing. Put it against her as if it was you cuddling against her.

try putting something under the mattress to prop it up a little, that way it is not in crib as a safety hazard
