I keep my son up from about 8 to midnight and it never fails for him to wake up by 3 unless I'm really lucky. After about 45 minutes of feeding and burping he sleeps til about 6:30. He eats 6-8 ounces and hardly ever spits up more than just a dribble. WIC says he's too young for cereal at nine weeks but 7 years ago with my daughter they suggested putting just a teaspoon in her bottle and she slept longer at the same age. Any suggestions?

He kinda made his own schedule for the most part. He has about a 4 hour period at night that he stays awake he also does it in the morning. From about 6:30 - 11:00 he's awake and then will sleep all day, except to wake up and eat, til 7:30 or 8:00 and then he's up. But he eats SO much I don't see how he gets so hungry so soon.

I would try putting him to bed earlier 12 is late for a little one to be up and they wake up when they are hungry. some wake up alittle more than others some as much as every 2hrs or even less. just give him some time to get used to the whole night and day thing. and i think 6-8 oz is alot but thats just my opinion i have a 5 month old and she only eats about 4oz every 2 to 3 hrs except at night when she sleeps for about 6hrs. but if that works for you then i guess go for it. I would deffinately try putting him to bed sooner. Good luck

Can I ask why you're keeping your son up from 8 to midnight? That might be your problem, in all honesty. When they are over-tired they tend to wake more; sleep begets sleep. Plus 9 weeks is pretty early for them to sleep long stretches. At that age their stomachs are still small, and they are growing rapidly, so he probably just needs to eat at night still! And yeah cereal this young is also not a good idea, their digestive systems aren't ready for it.
