My son is going to be a year on the 18th! He still occasionally wakes up in the night, sometimes at 3 and some times at 5. I am nervous about giving him a bottle because I don't want it to become a habit, but what do you all do?? Would you give your child a bottle in the night?

Definitely don't feed at night, because he will come to expect it, and will keep waking up. If you feel that you need to go in and check on him (he's crying or calling for you), go in and give him his binky (if he uses one), see if he needs a diaper change. If he's crying pick him up and tell him it's ok. Don't let him fall asleep in your arms and lay him back down, tell him it's time to go back to sleep and leave the room.

This is what I do with my daughter, and it really seems to work. She has always been a great sleeper, but does stir every now and then, and just needs to be assured she isn't alone.

I would definitely not feed at night though, definitely.

I did. People said thre was no way she would be hungry so don't give a bottle. I only gave her a small bottle if she woke, and let me tell you she sucked that thing back so fast. She was hungry. It only took her five minutes from the time she woke up had her bottle and was back asleep again, so why not. If it starts happening just the odd day here and there, then I would say no don't give the bottle because he can obviously make it throught the night without eating if it's only happening every once in awhile.
