when it came time for bed my son wouldn't let me put himdown so i had to sit on the floor by his crib where he could touch me  through the railso fthe crib. We did this for a cupple of days every day i moved away from the crib where he could still seem until i was out the door. This will take time. While doing this don't speak to the baby. I hope this helps.

Sadie is correct, I found my boys started sleeping much better at night when I got them on a good napping schedule. I also don't believe in cry it out and will rock or hold them back to sleep if they wake. We also run a humidifier in their room, military housing sucks, and they sleep better with the white noise.

letting your baby have a nap during the day promotes good sleep at night, sounds strange but really works.

Swaddling, rocking & lullabies, white noise machine &/or sound machine all can help.
